  • Take My Students on an Meta Quest!

    Funded Oct 25, 2023

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. The students love it! Many of our students have never experienced virtual reality in any capacity so the look on their faces and especially when they take it off and realize they are still in class is so amazing.

We have been using the VR headset for History. In 6th grade we study ancient civilizations and there are a number of apps that allow students to put on the head set and walk around these ancient structures. The latest one we have experienced are the pyramids in Egypt. It is very similar to street view on Google, expect they can look around and have a 360 degree view of everything around them. We have also walked the street of Pompeii to see the part of town that have been excavated by archeologists.

Without you none of this would be possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Schaa

  • Make My Students Math Prodigies!

    Funded Jan 9, 2019

It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and willingness to give towards the mathematical development of my students. With the memberships that were donated, we have been able to tap into further learning with the use of smaller groups to focus on differentiation amongst our students. The achievements that the students are able to access through the completion of mathematical concepts has given them a determination not only to work towards competence but also to complete as many problems as possible in the time we have allocated for Prodigy. Having this wealth of information makes these groups meaningful and relevant.

Again, thank you for your donation. Our children's faces light up when it's time to sign in to Prodigy. They love the fact that they can have access to fun learning and have access to the full range of benefits that the site has to offer. We truly appreciate your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Schaa

  • Extra! Extra! Doc Cam Helps Save the Environment!

    Funded Jan 11, 2011

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. As a teacher in a high-poverty district, it is difficult to supply my classroom with the necessary resources for learning. With your donation to help purchase a document camera, I am now able to project actual examples of projects and manipulatives. Notes no longer disappear from the board with a feeling of finality. We are able to use this tool on a daily basis, and I will be able to keep and use it forever!

Again, thank you so much for your generosity! With your kindness you are helping the students of today, and creating capable leaders of the future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Schaa

  • Technology Program - Technology = Oxymoron!!

    Funded Sep 16, 2010

I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. Our technology class can finally say that we are using technology! The projector that you donated to our class has changed my way of teaching and the students way of learning. I am able to project actual examples and give explicit instructions of functionality or process. We are able to project projects and student work examples, which motivates the students and fosters a sense of pride in their work. I can't even begin to count the number of lessons that I have changed or now found to incorporate with the projector. It is truly a gift that keeps on giving and from the bottom of my heart I want to say thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Schaa

I am very fortunate to have an amazing group of students. Their insatiable thirst for knowledge is what inspires me to seek out innovative ways to make learning in our classroom entertaining and meaningful. What I love most about them is their inquisitiveness and eagerness to learn new things. They love anything dealing with STEAM and project days are intense. Our school is Title 1 with 95% of our students receiving free or reduced lunch. We also have high populations of homeless and foster students. In spite of having limited materials at school and limited resources in the area where they live, they are always happy to come to school and embrace those challenges as a driving force to do their best.
