Thank you for coming together to add these books into our classroom library. This project introduced something new to me, as many of the donors are parents of students I currently teach. It is heartwarming to know that there are so many people (besides me) who are invested in the education of these amazing kids and now play a part in their growing joy of reading. We are currently in the midst of a "reading challenge" in class, where students receive a certain amount of points for books they completed from specific book baskets in the classroom library. That challenge has really amped up the reading in class, and now with these brand new amazing books to toss into the fold, their excitement will only grow. Once again, thank you for your kindness and generosity.”

  • Essential Supplies for Exceptional Students

    Funded Oct 21, 2024

When you think about a Language Arts classroom, tissues, fruit snacks, and stickers are probably not the first things that come to your mind. Those were all included in this proposal - funded thanks to you - and all play an intricate part in the success, well-being, and enjoyment of 90 students each and every day. Thank you so much for contributing to this proposal and bringing in some much needed items.

The copy paper is a tremendous help when I need to distribute info to my students, the snacks give them a little burst of energy when the day is dragging a bit, and the stickers are a great reward for a job well done.

Once again, thank you for your generosity and investment in my classroom. Just know that every student will benefit from these supplies and it will have a meaningful, positive impact on them.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Rosenzweig

  • Basic Supplies for Incredible Students

    Funded Mar 4, 2024

Words cannot express how excited my students were to see the supplies arrive from this proposal. Thick markers. Thin markers. Colored pencils. More colored pencils. Each item I pulled from the box was greeted with oooohs and ahhhhs. In my Language Arts class, I love to allow my students to decorate their final drafts. All of these amazing new supplies will allow then to decorate better than they have ever been able to decorate before. Additionally, we do activities where students read non-fiction articles and identify different pieces of text evidence with different colored color pencils. Now with all these fantastic supplies, this activity has been injected with new life and new enthusiasm from my students.

Thank you once again. We will take excellent care of these supplies and use them well for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Rosenzweig

This is my favorite activity of my work day - being lucky enough to write an impact letter to generous donors for fulfilling one of my proposals for new, exciting books.

As I hope you can tell from the pictures I've uploaded, even though some students may be a little shy to the camera lens, no one struggled with being able to grab the books they were most excited to read. I usually don't enjoy repeatedly being asked the same question from my students, but I make an exception when it is "When will the new books be in the library?" I've heard that all day today, and it is music to my ears.

As soon as I can create some labels for new book baskets, the books will be added to the library and not long after that, checked out of the library.

As a Language Arts teacher and avid book lover, I don't take for granted how valuable it is to have a quiet place to cozy up with a great book, and that is what I try to provide in my classroom. I set aside 3 class periods a week for independent reading. Some times they complete an assignment after they read, while other times they are just reading for pure enjoyment.

Again, these books will make an immediate and lasting impact in my classroom and on many, many students. Thank you.”

    Mr. Rosenzweig

  • Basic Supplies for Amazing Kids

    Funded Feb 7, 2022

Thank you so much for coming together to stock my classroom with basic essentials for some amazing students. You may think that the items in this proposal are rather simple, but I believe you'll see just how important and necessary they are to my students based on the letters that they have written. Items that we may take for granted - like pencils, tissues, or desk wipes - are really major parts of each and every day in the classroom and truly help students thrive on a regular basis. Thank you so much for thinking about my students and their needs. I'll make absolutely sure not to waste or overuse any of the supplies from this proposal, but at the same time, make sure every student has access to everything they need to be fully and completely successful.”
