  • Staying Sharp and Colorful

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

The art room was alive with excitement as the students crowded around the table, their eyes fixed on the range of Prismacolor pencils displayed in front of them. We distributed sharpened pencils to the students, and their faces brightened up as they observed the difference. The pencils felt almost magical in their hands, much sharper and more responsive than the blunt ones they'd used before.

The new, longer tips on their Prismacolor pencils allowed them to draw finer lines and more intricate features. Color blending increased, giving their drawings depth and richness.

Their wonderful artwork quickly circulated, and the students began preparing for art competitions. They will enter their pieces, which are loaded with vivid, flawlessly blended colors.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Reyna

  • Stats, Stats, Stats!

    Funded Apr 15, 2024

We began utilizing tablets and app features. Although the application is easy to use, getting used to it takes some time. The tablet has also assisted in documenting, visually observing, and reviewing the athlete's swing in order to identify areas for improvement or to increase power production.

The pitcher has also been able to view himself in the mirror and work on his delivery. When pitching, the athletes were able to examine to see if they are giving away any telltale indicators about the type of pitch. They have been capable of ensuring that every mechanic they use to provide a consistent delivery to the pitch.

The tablet and all of its accessories have already begun to be useful. It began to demonstrate an improvement in the athlete's mechanics and confidence.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Reyna

My school is a Title I school in an urban school district. Despite having a large population of at-risk and minority students, our school consistently performs very well on state and national exams. The middle school that is on our campus and that consists of a large portion of our elementary students has even gone to be recognized as a National Blue Ribbon school. Our students perform well because we maintain high standards of excellence and we expect them to be successful. Our students' parents support our school, our teachers, and our administrators, and this is why our school has been so consistently successful.
