Using Percussion To Make Music!
Funded Oct 23, 2011It is with extreme gratitude that I write you to say that your contributions to instruments in our classroom have provided my students with an incredible means from which to express and create music. Since receiving the drums, the students have written their own percussion compositions! They were able to take the music theory information they are learning and put it to use.
In addition to the wonderful resources you've helped us acquire, the drums have been used for our dance class. We are also looking forward to using the drums in our Caribbean themed musical, "Once On This Island," in May.
Again, thank you very much for your generosity. It is making a huge impact on the lives of students who need it!”

Using Internet/Technology In The Music Classroom
Funded Dec 10, 2010It is with extreme gratitude that I write to tell you that my students have begun to use the LCD projector you so graciously provided for us. The generous gift you gave has created a greater sense of enthusiasm for my students by being able to use interactive games and music theory quizzes online. After using the LCD projector to demonstrate various websites in which students can create melodies and beats, some students have even begun to email me work they are doing at home on these websites! They are self-motivated!
The excitement and positive energy this has created for my students is incredible! We can now approach music with a 21st century mindset and students will be able to effectively use technology in their work to learn, study and create in the arts.”

Funded Mar 3, 2010Because of your generous donations, my fourth and fifth grade students have tremendously increased their technique on their respective instruments (recorder and guitar). The music stands have allowed them the opportunity to be able to play their instruments using proper posture which affects their tone and technique. The students have been eager to take the next steps in the learning process because of having the proper equipment. Your impact is huge and will have long-lasting affects throughout the coming years. I am grateful beyond words for your donations and incredible generosity.”

Funded Dec 4, 2009I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you for your contributions to our music technology project. I have seen my classroom come to life as a result of acquiring these materials. The students now have new, innovative ways of studying music theory, listening critically to a variety of musical examples, and even hearing themselves after being recorded! The opportunity you have given these students is one that will impact them for their entire lives. They are exploring the arts and the world of music in a fresh, exciting way.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for all you've done for us.
Sincerely,
Mr. Phelps”
