Xylophones
Funded Dec 27, 2014Thank you so much for your generosity in donating to our school and our students. Many students will be very excited and happy to learn music for many years to come along with our current students who are looking forward to every music class!
Thanks to the instruments, not only have the students learned fun songs but they have learned to share with each other, make new friends, learn about the brain and how it works when its challenged by music, create and write their own songs, perform for parents and teachers, and most importantly, they have a desire each morning to come to school because they are excited to what they can discover not only about themselves but about music as well. This is only possible thanks to the instruments.
My students play the instruments to learn about songs, history, music theory, composition, evaluation, listening, improvising and notating. The instruments provide an fun and easy way for kids to learn about frequencies in sound, and pitch ranges and speed, it is just a fun environment for the kids and they're being challenged by having to play a song to the most exact specifics. They are also preparing to perform at this years spring concert with the instruments as well.
The instruments have certainly added to the dynamic in class and in the ability to keep all of the students engaged. Each student has an idea or something they want to share and with the instruments, it provides an easy and fun way for them to express themselves which contribute positively to the classroom. They have more respect for things we have as I teach them to be very grateful and respectful. I couldn't be more thankful for what the donation of the instruments has done for us!
We all send you big hugs!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Oz
