TPT Resources for UTK Dual Language Students
Funded Sep 3, 2024Thank you for supporting our project, I have bought materials on TPT to help support our math, language arts, and Spanish instruction in my classroom.
The math product I got has been useful in small groups, the students have been able to subitize or see the dots in a five frame and quickly identify the amounts. We have used the pages to help the students count and write the respective number of items in each page- it has helped the students to independently show their understanding of counting and number formation. For the Spanish portion I was able to buy alphabet pages that include both English and pictures and words. The students have been exciting to color the pictures and learn the new words in Spanish.
Thanks once again for your support, I can see the difference in the students interest and learning using the materials we were able to buy.”

Funded May 11, 2024The students were thrilled to hear that donors had helped our classroom by donating money to buy the letters and numbers that we would use at our centers.
The students have used the magnetic letters to sort them by color, to write their names, and to recognize and match the letters. We have used the sandpaper letters to help them recognize and trace the letters. During math, we have used the magnetic numbers to put them in order and to identify them.
We will continue to use the magnetic letters to sort them by lowercase or uppercase, write their names with greater ease, make words, and use them to identify their sounds in Spanish.
Thanks for taking the time to review and supporting our project!!!”

Math Centers for Early Learners
Funded May 8, 2024We are beyond excitement to learn that our Math project got funded!
Our students have been excited and busy using the counters to complete patterns, match numbers with counters, and some even practice adding!
They have used the pop Ten Frame to practice counting and cardinality or keeping track of their numbers by pushing and popping each number.
Your support to our project has helped our current students and many other students in years to come!
Your gift will keep on giving and helping many young minds build their math skills!”

Funded Oct 31, 2023My students have been enjoying the materials especially since we are working in our Building Study Unit. Many of them have built homes, buildings, castles, towers, and garages among others.
One important aspect of their creations is that they have been working together to build, add, or remove pieces as they see it necessary to expand their work. When I have asked what they are making, some of them have told me a castle, a tower, or a garage- and they show how garage opens and has cars inside. When the day is over they have been able to save their creations for the next day- that too, has contributed to talking, sharing ideas, and problem solve in how to best keep it together so it doesn't fall apart.
I plan to have the materials readily available during center time- so they can continue to work together and use the materials in their own creative ways as we go through our unit of learning. It will be interesting to see how their creativity leads them to use the materials in various ways.”

Funded Sep 11, 2023Thanks once again for your generous contribution to make this small project possible. My students were intrigued when we got a delivery box and were asking what was in it. I told them that people had donated to our project and there were things for our classroom for them to use. When I showed them the Colorful Alphabet Cards and the Wikki Stix, they went "Wow."
My students are using the Wikki Stix Alphabet Center and Wikki Stix at a center to construct letters, follow along the designs on the cards, yet others make their own creations- they get to roll, twist, roll them into balls. It is a center they enjoy and keeps them busy learning and being creative.
We have mixed the Glitter Pom Poms to our other pom poms, and we use them in our Math and Literacy Centers. At our literacy, they use tweezers to cover letters and in our math center they used them to count.
We have used the Wiggle eyes and glue gun to make sock puppets, they use their puppets to sing and practice their oral language. They will use their puppets in the puppet theater.
Finally we have used the rollers to paint strips of paper for our bulletin boards. One of the the ideas I have if for them to use the rollers with different paint colors to paint onto paper and make any designs they like.”

Funded Apr 21, 2012I would like to share with you some of the activities we have accomplished using the materials you helped our class get. In class the students worked in groups sharing the materials and using the materials that best suited their skills and needs. Some students used the Alphabet Tracing Stamps to spell and trace high frequency words. The Fill-In- The- Blanks Phonics Stamps and the Phonics Stamp set allowed some of the students to look at a picture and write in the missing letters. This was very helpful for them because they were able to stamp, read, and write while having fun. Some of the benefits I noticed were that some students showed more confidence in sounding out words and writing words with more ease. The Addition and Subtraction Learning Center allowed students to work independently in groups solving addition and subtraction problems. The students were excited sharing and using this math center.
One last story I would like to mention was when one of my students using the Word Family Game excitedly showed and read the words he had written using the activity cards. I was so proud for him because he read some of the sounds which previously he was having difficulty.
On behalf of my students, I want to thank you all for your generosity and commitment to our classroom and to the education of all those other students that will in the future benefit using these centers and activities.”

Funded Jan 14, 2012Thank you all for your generous donation;
These are just some ways in which we have been using the laptop in our classroom:
The children have been using the laptop on a daily basis to access different computer programs. Our school purchased a program to support our English Language Learners, so they have been able to use it in blocks of 20 minutes. Another on-line program they have used is Starfall; more independent readers and those that need to review basic reading skills used this in addition to Imagine Learning. Also during math they are able to play games on-line or sometimes I project them so that everybody gets a chance to participate. Students are eager to see the schedule and to know that their time to use it is soon. Many of them ask to use it when they are finished with their work.
I have used the laptop in different ways such as to play videos and songs from our Social Studies program. The students enjoy singing along as they learn about our nation's history. In science, we have played a game called Dress the Bear, where students choose different outfits to dress a bear based on the temperature of a thermometer. When we played the game the first few times the children were not much aware of the thermometer, but as we played it more times; they began to pay more attention to the ups and downs of the thermometer. Now they are able to choose more appropriate clothes for the bear. I have also created PowerPoint presentations for lessons in math, language arts, and science.
The impact of having a new laptop has changed many ways in which I teach because it has allowed more interactive lessons where a piece of video or a picture creates more sense than a few words. However, the greatest impact was when they learned that people that they don't know think about them and the importance of their education.
I believe that the impact of your generous actions will last them lifetime and for that reason I can not thank you enough. ”

Mr. Ordoñez
