This year, my co-teacher and I are working with a 7th grade classroom. Our classroom will have an incredible variety of students, including English language learners and students with many different kinds of special needs. Our school uses the co-teaching model as an opportunity to ensure that the majority, if not all, students are included in the general education classroom, which increases the variety of needs within a single classroom. My co-teacher and I are always looking for creative ways to increase student engagement and assist in their learning.
