Flexible Seats and Soft Lighting: A Conducive Learning Environment!
Funded Sep 7, 2018I am constantly in shock by the support the donors choose community and my own community have shown my classroom. My students were ecstatic when these resources arrived. Before they showed up for school I put together the stools, set up the lamps and prepared the book bins. I explained that incredible people donated these items just for them because they care about their learning. They were speechless!
It has been a few weeks since the resources have been in use and they are LOVING them. I have students incredibly focused on their work because they found the right seat. I am able to keep our fluorescent lights off since we have enough lamp lighting and they love snuggling with one of our new pillows while they read their books.
These resources will last many years and continue to give students choice and comfort in their learning environment. Thank you for your continued and incredible support.”

Funded Feb 9, 2018This trip was absolutely incredible. We have almost 40 volunteers join us at the zoo to help the children explore and it went flawlessly. The teachers watched as their students saw animals they had never seen before and made connections with learning they had done all throughout the year. The students had a blast on the bus both ways and loved being in a new (for almost all) city.
It seemed that the highlight of the trip for most students was their time with the animals. You can ask any 2nd grader at our school how they liked the zoo and you will get a well thought out and detailed answer. The students were amazed at the beauty of these exotic animals.
This trip has inspired all 2nd grade teachers at our school to facilitate an animal research project with their class. Every student has picked an animal they want to learn more about and will be researching it on computers and in books. This will lead a them presenting their findings to peers and parents!

Funded Aug 22, 2017Thank you so much for your donation toward our new Chromebook laptops. My class is incredibly lucky to have such caring and generous people like you in their lives.
The laptops have already become an important asset to our classroom. Students who usually don't have any access to academic technology are now getting it everyday. I have student who hate writing or reading but get on these computers, log into one of our literacy programs and are engulfed in rich text until I have to force them to shut it down.
We use the computers everyday for many things, we practice typing, write stories, read books, practice math and much more. I cannot begin to express the happiness and excitement your donation has instilled in my group of 2nd graders. Thank you for being a part of our classroom community and caring about these students.”

Wiggle While You Work!
Funded Feb 3, 2017The students and I dug into the new resources purchased with your help the day they arrived. I already see a difference. When I first opened the boxes, their faces lit up with excitement. As a class, we unpacked and explored the new resources and the students decided which type of flexible seating would work best for their learning and that weekend I installed them.
The change in the students' learning and engagement has been astonishing. With this new seating, the children are happier, more excited about learning, and eager to sit down and get to work. I cannot express my gratitude for your support with this project.
Seeing the impact this project has had on my class in the middle of the school year gives me hope for my future students. I am incredibly excited to continue the implementation of this seating for years to come. My students and I are eternally grateful for your contribution to our class.”
