Podcasting for the Past, Present, and Future!
Funded May 8, 2024Thank you very much for our Audio-Technica ATH-M30x headphones and our InnoGear Desktop Microphone Stands! These tools will greatly improve how we create and produce our podcast! Our headphones will help us hear our sound levels when we are talking to one another! Our desktop microphone stands will help us make sure all of our voices will be heard!
Our podcast students are an awesome group of creative students that add voice to our school and local community! Your generous donations have not only helped to add a voice to our school community, but it has helped our students get a chance to learn about the technical aspects of producing a podcast!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Moreno

Funded Nov 10, 2021Thank you very much for our podcast equipment! My students and I have been working very hard on putting our podcasts together and telling our stories. So much creativity has been unleashed by my students!
It is inspiring to hear students become self-motivated in researching local and world topics. They have been able to share their thinking and opinions. This equipment has allowed my students to have their voices heard!
Not only has this podcast equipment helped my students share their voices, it has helped them work cooperatively, assisting one another in developing their topic through research as well as developing their listening and speaking skills! My students and I really appreciate having this donation made to us!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation to support my students! We have created many exciting projects and are looking forward to delving into new and engaging territory! One of the exciting projects we have creating is using and programming our Arduinos to design artistic masks with moving eyeballs that the students programmed themselves!
My students were very excited to get to work using their coding skills when working with the Arduinos and their Makey Makeys. Honestly, I was a bit apprehensive about having them tackling the programming involved with the Arduinos, but with some guidance, many students took to it like a duck to water!
I'm looking forward to having the students create projects that integrate the use of Arduinos and Makey Makeys with what they are learning about in social studies. We plan on creating an interactive map focused on important events in American history. Again, thank you very much for supporting such a great group of students!”

Funded Jan 1, 2018Thank you very much for your generous donations! The students in my after school STEM club have enjoyed the additional materials that you have donated. Your generosity has helped my students develop 21st century skills, as well as their coding and problem solving skills.
There are many 3rd grade students that have been able to use the Dash Dot robots as an introduction to coding. It's great to see their sense of accomplishment whey they're able to successfully program their robot to follow a specific path, or complete a certain task.
We are still working on using our Echo Dot and Adventure Bot together. Our goal is to create a robot that will follow voice commands. With a lot of patience and determination, I know my students will be able to accomplish this and many other goals! Thank you again!”

Funded Dec 20, 2016Thank you very much for the awesome Chromebooks! My students and I are extremely appreciative of this gift! These Chromebooks have truly changed the way my students learn. We have been working extremely hard on various collaborative projects and activities. It is amazing to see my students "take off and soar!"
One of the projects we have been working on involves students researching wind and hydroelectric energy sources and delving into the pros and cons of each type of alternative energy source. As a teacher, it's great to see my students use Google Classroom to comment and share ideas on this project. They are gaining invaluable collaborative skills that will stay with them for a lifetime!
Our newest project involves students creating anti-bullying videos that will be shared with other students at our school. The goal of these videos will be to impact not only the students in my class, but also the students in our school. It is amazing to see that my students will be able to use 21st century skills to make a positive impact through out our school. All of this is possible because of our Chromebooks. Thank you.”

Support Creativity Through Technology
Funded Jan 27, 2012Thank you very much for our two iPod Touches and our HP laser jet printer. These gifts have had a tremendous impact on how we do things in our classroom. Many of the students in my class do not have a computer in their home or have access to the Internet. We have been able to find many unique and different ways to use these technological tools in our classroom. These tools have allowed my students the ability to access information that would otherwise be unavailable to them. After downloading the Amazon Kindle app onto our class iPods, we have been able to use our iPod Touches as e-readers. My students are able to use these to read the electronic version of various books that our read aloud in our classroom. This has transformed how I read aloud books in the classroom. Each day, groups of students are able to follow along with the iPod Touches as we read each day.
All of the students are also excited to use the QR code scanning app on our iPod Touches. By scanning the unique QR code associated with our classroom blog, students are able to use the iPod Touches to access the mobile version of our classroom blog. This provides the students with access to the many different web links and other information that is available on our blog. My students have also been able to use the various educational apps on our iPod Touches to improve their grammar skills, practice their weekly spelling words, test their math knowledge, and reinforce what they have learned in class.
Our iPod Touches have allowed my students to model and record stop motion videos of the steps needed to solve various math problems. These various videos were then placed onto our classroom blog, which provided assistance to any students that may need help understanding and solving these problems. It is also very cool for my students to see their stop motion videos posted on our classroom blog!
In addition to our iPod Touches, our HP laser jet printer has been a gift that has allowed my students to be more productive and creative on a daily basis. During a unit on poetry, each student was able to create and print various original poems using our HP laser jet printer. Everyone learned how to copy and paste pictures to their poems. What we ended up with was a collection of original, creative poems that all created on the computer, and printed out with our laser printer!
In short, these gifts that each of you have provided to my students, has helped them become more advanced at using technology in their daily lives. My students have also been able to use these tools to display their creativity. As a teacher, I have noticed how these tools have helped to motivate students that otherwise were not very motivated about learning and school in general. I have had students that have actually asked to come into the classroom during their recess and lunch time to use our iPods to study their spelling words! Thank you once again for providing these gifts for my students. ”

Mr. Moreno
