  • Ink Cartridges for Classroom Printer!

    Funded May 6, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Not having access to a colored printer in school has been stressful, but now that we have our own printer, life is more colorful! With that being said, as a teacher we print a lot of things in color which uses a lot of ink. Because of your generosity, I do not have to worry if I run out of ink and if I'm able to print in color. My students are so excited to have resources in color, some handouts, and a colorful classroom. Again, thank you so much for your donation. We are forever grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Mischke

  • Mask On

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Thank you for helping our class stay safe and keep the germs away! Due to these challenging times, students are required to wear a mask in school. Sometimes, these masks can get dirty, smelly, fall on the floor or are even too small/big for our children. Having these extra masks allows our students and teachers to stay safe at all time with no excuses to not have a mask. You have continued to make our lives easier by helping our students tremendously. We are forever grateful for your continued support and generosity. Stay safe and stay well.”

  • Remote Learning Essentials During Covid-19

    Funded Aug 27, 2020

Thank you for your generous donation and for helping my students succeed during these trying times. When my students opened the package of white boards they were so excited. They LOVE using dry erase markers because it makes them feel like the teacher and it is fun for them. Now, each of my students have their own white board and dry erase markers which will help continuing their learning. This also allows each of my students to stay safe while not sharing school supplies. Again, thank you so much!”

  • Book Bins as Our Supply Bins!

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Wow, thank you for everything you have done. Your organization is truly inspiring to all and your donations do not go unnoticed. Because of Covid, we cannot store materials in their desks. The book bins I originally purchased for the students were too small and too light. This caused their supplies to fall over the classroom all throughout the day. Having new book bins and book bags allows my students to stay organized and safe during these difficult times. Now the students can have "something of their own" while feeling motivated and driven. Thank you again!”

  • iPads for 21st Century Learning!

    Funded Apr 29, 2020

Words cannot express how thankful I am for your generous donation. This school year has already been stressful and overwhelming. Our students cannot read physical books due to Covid-19.

With that being said, our resources are limited and our creativity is diminishing. Having another iPad will allow students to listen to audio books and read them. This will help make reading and learning fun for my students, especially since reading a crucial component in education.

You have helped my class tremendously and we are forever grateful for it. Thank you again! Stay stay and stay well.”

  • Books, Books, and More Books!

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation! Building a classroom library as a first year teacher is challenging being that I want to provide my students with books of their interest. My students spend an average of 25-40 minutes reading in class every day. Reading the same books can cause the students to lose interest and even cause them to dislike reading. Now we have a bunch of interest leveled books for our classroom library because of generous donors like yourself. There are many students who enjoy reading new books like Henry and Mudge or Judy Moody. Now my class is able to have access to a bunch of great books!

Thank you again for your donation; my class is forever grateful!”

  • Learning Resources for Centers!

    Funded Jan 24, 2020

Words cannot express my gratitude. There are many resources a teacher needs in order to run a successful classroom. Going into my first year of teaching, I did not have many resources and centers for my classroom. Because of your donation, my class now has more resources and activities for centers to further enhance their learning.

My class is having so much fun learning with the games you donated towards. These include the math quiz cards, roll and write word game and the blend & diagraphs game. When my students first saw the materials delivered, they were so excited! They wanted to start playing the games right away. Because it was a Friday, I let them play the games during Fun Friday.

Again, thank you so much for your donation. It's because of people like you that we teachers are able to give our students the best education possible!”

  • Basic Essentials to Help Run Our Classroom!

    Funded Jan 25, 2020

Thank you for your generous donation for my project! Because of you, my students now have basic essentials to help run our classroom. This week we started our reading groups where each group has 8-10 students from different second grade classes. We only had 5 stools in the classroom for our reading table which caused students to borrow small chairs from other classmates. Now, we have 10 stools for our reading table thanks to you. Earlier today, my reading group was so excited to sit in one of the 10 stools! This made my morning seeing how happy they were. In math, we started our new unit on money. Each student only had a set of coins, but now they have bills! This will help engage the students and help them master this money unit. From my class to you, thank you again for your kindness. You truly helped us out in so many ways!”

  • Color Our Classroom With a Colored Printer and Ink!

    Funded Jan 17, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Recently the teachers and students have lost access to a colored printer in our building. Because of your generosity, my class now has access to a colored printer in our classroom! So far we have printed worksheets, book labels for our classroom library, pictures for our Biography project (MLK, Obama, etc.), fake money for our new math unit, and lots to come this week! We will be starting our Biography project where the students will have to make a poster board, print pictures and write about a famous person. The ideas and projects are endless now because of your help! Printing in color makes the students feel proud of their hard work and it motivates them to try even harder. The students have been super excited to be able to print what ever we want when we want. From my class to you, thank you again so much for contributing towards this project. We are forever grateful and super excited to be able to always print in color!”

These manipulative will make learning math a fun hands on experience for my students. The common core math curriculum can be difficult for students to understand with out the ability to manipulate things. The understanding of place value and regrouping is hard to visual for many students. The use of place value blocks makes regrouping a much easier concept to understand. The second grade math curriculum also requires students to master measurement in inches and centimeters using both cubes and rulers. With out inch and centimeter cubes or enough rulers for each student this becomes a very difficult task. We have been getting by with paper rulers and cut outs of approximate inch and centimeter cubes but nothing is better than having the correct and true cubes and rulers. Second grade students are also expected to learn about money- coin names, values, and counting coins. How do you do that with out having money? Play money becomes a necessity during our money unit. In the end, your donations will help my students gain life long knowledge and a love of math. Math can be boring, but when you add the hands on component of manipulates math becomes more engaging and easier to understand. These manipulative will be used specifically to build their knowledge and mastery of the skill we learn in math class, skills that they will take with them throughout their education and into their adult life. Your donations will allow my enthusiastic students the ability to grow into the amazing mathematician I know they could be if they had the chance to have fun with math.
