Print Rich Environment
Funded Nov 10, 2021I want to thank you for the items donated to our class. The printer has given our class the resource to create the class a print rich environment. A print-rich environment helps foster skills needed for reading. Kids begin to discover cues that help them figure out words they see which lays the foundation for reading. allowing my class to visually see the items printed out within our classroom has made a big difference. They use these resources when it comes to having conversations within their peers and are able to describe many things because of the print rich environment. Thank you so much.”

Funded Nov 27, 2018On behalf of our students and myself, I want to thank you for your kind donations. Not having enough space to work on items where students comfortable working by themselves either on a writing piece or working on a test is important. When we didn't have the fold-able partitions, many times students would look over at their friends and copy their work. Now that we have them, students are really enjoying that their privacy is being respected.
The other items such as name tags and marker boxes helps our students recognize their names and showcase their work with pride knowing that students will pass by the classroom and know whose work it is.
Thank you so much for everything”

Los Angeles Leadership Academy CIF Soccer Equipment
Funded Mar 27, 2018I am glad to say that our sports program at our school has made a 360 in the last 6 months. Our soccer teams are very thankful for everything that has been donated to us. As you can see in our pictures, we are using most of the equipment now, but there are a few things that will be used until the upcoming year. Having each student have a soccer ball is the best thing that has happened to our program. We were using 2-3 balls for the past 2 years and when having practice, our soccer teams would have to divide the time to use the balls.
When I first took out all of the equipment, I left it on the bench were we usually leave our gear for practice. Believe it or not, no one really paid much attention to it because since there are a few other teams that hold practice at the same field as we do, they probably thought it was for the other team. I began the day by informing them that our practice was going to change. That it would be a lot better from that day forward. I told them that the gear was ours and a few of our seniors were in shock. they had gone 3+ years without receiving anything. They ran to get a ball, and started to practice, they were able to use their pinnies to make teams and not get confused during the mini games. It was a great 1st practice, and since then we continue to hold practices with the proper items.
Lastly, I want to say that my lessons plans will be a lot easier to follow. I have the proper equipment to make our program better and hope that our next season is full of excitement. On behalf of my team and I I want to thank you again for everything that was donated.”

Funded Dec 20, 2017Before I opened the boxes with the items shipped I told my students if they could guess what was inside the boxes. One of my students said that it was a box full of food, another said it was books, and so on, finally I came to one of my students who had a cast on her arm, and said, "I hope its something I can use." I right away opened it and everyone screamed with joy seeing the soccer balls and other equipment, The little girl who said that she hoped it was something she could use started crying. I asked her if she was OK, and she said "I am so happy I will be able to use the things because I could use my feet" That definitely made my day.
As of now, I have been doing small sessions 2 times a week with my students out on our basketball blacktop. They are learning simple soccer techniques which will help them if they would like to play soccer in a team. My students know that our high school has a soccer team, so they are learning that our training's will teach them how the sport is played so that one day they can
My next steps is to involve our school into getting our young kids into a local soccer league. I am also teaching my kids about exercising daily so that they build stamina and stay healthy.
On behalf of myself and my students, we want to thank you so much for everything that was donated to our class.”
