I am very proud to be the coach of a winning team, “ABACAXI,” a student car racing team. For the first time at TJ senior high school, we have a STEM club. Through the Ten80 Student Racing Challenge, students own their business and the team. Their industry is high-tech motorsports, and like the professionals, student teams optimize the performance of their race car by understanding its systems, by creatively engineering a winning strategy and by managing their time and resources wisely. Students are engaged in the excitement of racing as well as the real goals of innovating safe, sustainable transportations system. The base technology is a 1:10 scale electric radio-controlled (RC) car that can be set up in over 4 million ways before re-engineering a single part.
Now we are in need of a color laser printer to print our labels and stickers for our cars. The graphic design on the car body is also a competition item. My students are very talented and are capable of producing excellent body designs for the cars. We plan to print those design on an adhesive paper and decorate our racing cars and be ready for competitions.
I truly need your support to make this a reality. We're excited about the progress we are making at our school with so many incredible young minds that are motivated and determined to represent their school and their community.
Our team won all the invitationals in our region and got invited to compete in the National Finals. Unfortunately, we are unable to participate in the in the finals due to lack of funding. But we are determined to work hard and be ready for the competitions next year. We are looking forward winning your support.
