  • STEAM and PBL Meet: Are Hydroponics the Future?

    Funded Apr 22, 2021

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support of our students and this project!

Two school years ago, our students began discussing implementing a community garden on our school campus in order to help some of our families meet their needs and in order to support one of our community's largest food pantries.

Eventually, our Environmental and Marine Science classes started investigating the current challenge of using our natural resources correctly, which gave birth to this project.

We appreciate your very generous support of our classroom and learning!”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Medearis

This classroom project was brought to life by J.Crew and 4 other donors.
  • Bulldogs Build STEAM Thinking Skills Through Science-Art Integration!

    Funded Apr 8, 2020

It is with great admiration and appreciation that we reach out to you to thank you for your generous support of our classroom and our overall program.

In today's educational environment, the ability to carry out engaging and authentic lessons and projects is dependent on the generosity of donors such as you.

In our program, we integrate subjects and content focuses. The materials that you generously provided are currently being used in our Business of Experimental Science and Environmental Science/ 9th grade Literature class as our students plan, create, and produce their products.

Thank you for your impact on students that you will never meet, to support the learning of subjects and content that is required for their future success!

    We appreciate you!”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Medearis

  • Bulldogs Build a STEAM Lab Part II!

    Funded May 15, 2019

Again, the graciousness of the donors that support all of the classrooms and projects found on the Donorschoose website is overwhelming!

You will never completely understand the impact on the learning that you have on classrooms and students that you will probably never meet when you support projects such as ours.

Often times, the ideas, projects, and authentic acquisition of the critical thinking skills and conceptual understanding of standards that the materials purchased because of your support would never have happened due to restrictions or lack of funding in our the schools and classrooms. These projects come to life because of YOU!

Your generosity and investment in our classroom and my students is appreciated more than you know and will ever understand.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Medearis

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose.org Community and 3 other donors.
  • Bulldogs use Technology to put the T in STEAM!

    Funded May 10, 2018

Thank you for your generous support of our technology project!

With your support, our students will have the materials needed to conduct Science experiments in real time. Our students will now be able to take pictures of their experiments in the lab, connect to data collecting pendants, and upload information to spreadsheets and other project folders in real time.

Our students are so excited to have these materials and to use them in our lab. Having the newest iPad versions, access to data- light and temperature pendants- materials that are used to conduct real, project based science investigations and projects, is not something that we have had available for them until now.

Thank you for your investment in our students and our program. You have impacted the learning of students that you will never meet and have inspired the investigation of Science concepts that would be difficult if these materials were not available.”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Medearis

  • Bulldogs Building Biology Skills Project 1!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for completely funding our project!

Our high school students will benefit from your generosity as we continue to build Biology skills as we prepare for our End of Course exam.

Learning abstract Science concepts without concrete examples is difficult. Your generous support will allow our biology students to make these abstract concepts much more concrete as they gain experiences provided through these supplies.

Thank you again for supporting students that you will never meet, at a school that you will never visit. Your generosity is much appreciated!”

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for your generous support of our Bulldogs Building Biotechnology, Bioremediation, and Biology Skills project!

This project's completion will allow our high school students to prepare for their biology EOC. As you know, gaining skills of abstract Science skills is difficult. Your support of this project will give us the materials needed to make these abstract concepts much more concrete. We will use these materials to create engaging lab experiences and meaningful learning opportunities for our students.

Thank you again for your generous support of our project!”

  • Bulldogs start a 4H Program!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for supporting our Donors Choose Project!

This project allowed us to start our 4H club at our High School this year. As you know, 4H is a youth development program focused on growing leadership skills in today's youth. The various portions of the project that you funded allowed for our 4H club members (and our life science classes) to gain experience in some of the concepts that they would never have experienced without your generous support.

Thank you for your generous donation that positively impacted the lives of students that you will never meet.

It is much appreciated. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Medearis

Your thoughtfulness, and your donation to our Donors Choose project has allowed for the purchase of materials that have and will directly support our Drawing I and Drawing II classes both this year and into the future.

In order to create the types of pieces that our students need to gain experience with, we need to have the supplies that are needed to work. Your generous support of our classroom has done this.

Thank you again for positively impacting the education of students that you will never meet!

  • Robots, Robots, Robots: The Building of Eagle Robotics Mentors!

    Funded Sep 6, 2017

I wanted to send you a quick thank you for your generous support of our project. As I work to prepare our students for their learning and careers in the not-too-distant future, there are a variety of skills that they will need to have mastered in order to be successful.

Our students will need to be critical/ creating thinkers, they will need to be problem solvers, they will need to be able to both lead and work in a team and finally they will have to be able to share their knowledge/ understanding of problems with others.

This project, although it looks like a simple robotics project, will allow our students to practice these skills, with a secondary objective being for them to be able to take their new knowledge and act as mentors towards younger students.

Your generous support has gone well beyond what is ever expected when projects are posted. Please know how thankful we are for your support, especially because it will have an impact on students that you may never meet. You all are awesome!

Thank you again for supporting my students,”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Medearis

My five (5) Drawing I, Drawing 2, Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, and/or Environmental Science classes are made up of approximately 135 students, both Advanced and General in nature. Our school is a Title One school, that is looking to engage all of our students through the infusion of critical thinking strategies that challenge our students to solve both problem and project based assignments and challenges in all content areas. To support our school efforts, I am also the sponsor of our 4H, club which are open to any of our students during their after school. Our students have shown great interest in all areas of Science, but specifically in areas of STEM and engineering. These projects will purchase materials that will allow them to investigate and explore these careers in a much more meaningful, hands on, and concrete way.
