Students Teach the Class Through Digital Presentations
Funded Feb 14, 2025I would like to thank you all so much for giving my students the opportunity to do digital presentations for their nation projects and to be able to have more hands on digital opportunities in the classroom. It will also help kids that don’t have a device be able to do research in the classroom. It means a lot to me that everyone was so generous.”

Girls Bowling Team Looking to Play All the Time
Funded Aug 2, 2023I would like to send my warmest thank you for the equipment for the girls bowling team. It has been a fantastic season in part to the new equipment that gives us an opportunity to have fun after school in the gym and hallways with the indoor bowling equipment. It's difficult for us to travel everyday to go practice at a bowling alley since there is none nearby and it is also very expensive to practice all the time. This gives us a chance to work on form, angles, and just have fun.
We have had a fantastic season and the team had really come together and part of it is being able to hang out and play whenever we want. It has brought the team together as new friendships have been formed. The team is so excited for every match and has had the best season at the school in a decade. We have won numerous individual awards and have got lots of recognition at the school for the season we just had.
The indoor bowling equipment is also just a ton of fun for the girls and they get to laugh, be silly, and just have a fun end to the school day. We have an indoor lane which allows for approach and angle practice. The pins won't damage the gym and are easy to do on the side to not interfere with other sports. The balls give a semi real feel of what a bowling ball feels like and gives us a chance to work on holding the ball properly and working on release and follow through.
We jut had the best season for our bowling team in a decade. Thank you so much!”

Funded May 6, 2019Books have always played an essential role in education as it can help students with spelling, grammar, reading, comprehension, vocabulary, history, critical thinking, analysis, creativity, imagination, current events, vocabulary, problem solving, overall intelligence, and their future career. Think about all the things I just mentioned that many of the kids in low income areas are missing out on.
I felt that challenging the students with historical fiction and non-fiction could help the students better understand history and help them grow as students. The 4 books that were chosen for 7th grade American History were selected specifically because they told the historical events of this country through the eyes of girls, boys, women, teenagers, and African Americans.
The first book we started with was To Be a Slave. The students are learning about slavery through letters written by former slaves. Each chapter is multiple stories about a specific part of slavery. For example the students read about the middle passage and I created questions that went along with the reading. After they answered the questions we had a class discussion where the kids talked about the hardships of the middle passage. I have had many students who want to do extra readings because they are so fascinated to hear the slaves tell the story of slavery.”
