Wonderful Whiteboards Rock Writers' Worlds!
Funded Feb 6, 2022Thank you so much for supporting our fifth-grade classroom. It's always such a great surprise to see a project funded. I love being able to go into class the next day and share with the students that someone outside our classroom has shown us generous kindness.
My class experienced something amazing this year. We got to start the year with a lot of fresh new supplies. Reluctant math students are not always eager to try a new word problem or show their calculations, but there is something magical about having a whiteboard and fresh whiteboard markers. They love to do the work!
Thank you for sharing this with my students.”

My class has been very fortunate to have a nice collection of books in our classroom library. But, we lack storage space in class. This upright bookcase is a delight. It makes it so much easier and more accessible for my taller students. Let's face it, students DO actually judge books by their covers. This allows them to see books and not overlook any hidden gems.
Thank you for sharing this with my students.”

My students always look forward to PE. Unless its Mile Monday. But, they absolutely go crazy for Flags. We play variations of Sharks and Minnows where students run past each other and try to pull the flags off their opponents' flag belts. They often end up running more than on Mile Monday, but they love the thrill and competition of the game.
Thank you for sharing this with my students.”

Frog dissection has become a special event in our fifth-grade classroom. The students take it very seriously and are so excited as frog day approaches. We get to study Life Sciences and explore the basic anatomy of animals and humans. So, being able to explore a real specimen makes these student scientists feel like the real deal.
Thank you for making this happen for my students.”

These great books are among the most in-demand in our classroom library. I encourage all my students to read independently in and outside of class. I try to have a great selection of fun and intriguing titles.
Students have the opportunity to work on AR quizzes after each book read and love to challenge each other to more points. In fact, the Harry Potter books are known for having a high number of available points in addition to being classic titles.”

Fantastically Fun Finances Fuel the Future!
Funded May 18, 2021Thank you so much for helping with our financial literacy program. In addition to the games and math money materials, we also work with a classroom economy. Each student has responsibilities that help around the classroom. They get a monthly paycheck and can use that money to spend on prizes in monthly auctions, save up for bigger prizes, donate it, or invest in "real estate".
It's a simple system, but students are learning how to balance a checkbook. They see how money comes into and goes from their account. They discuss and debate different ways to use their money. Some want to spend it as soon as possible. Others are on the long-term saving trajectory.
They see that these same financial decisions grow into very real challenges that they will face in the future. With your help, they educate themselves in ways to work with money in ways that support their dreams and their community.
Thank you for your generous support!”

Funded May 25, 2021It's been a great start to the school year. We're in person and we have some great basic materials. Having the colorful transparent pockets allows us to decorate the room with vibrancy and hang student work at the same time. They bring our walls to life.
The clipboards allow us to work outside or around the room without a desk. This is great for small group work and maintaining safe social distancing.
The whiteboards are a huge part of our class, especially during our daily math lessons. I love being able to quickly check students' work. I can see their answers, but more importantly, their process. I can see what they understand and where they are making mistakes. I think they feel better knowing it's not permanent, but they can take great risks.
Thank you for all your support!”

Awesome Art Materials for Aspiring Artists!
Funded Jul 14, 2021Each year I try to make sure that my students have some basic materials to be successful in class. I like them to have some colored pencils for artwork and science diagrams.
This year has been an art explosion! Each student has their own amazing art kit. They have colored pencils, markers, crayons, glue, and scissors. It's been exciting to see the creativity that the students show in their artwork when they have multiple resources to choose from. The variety of their styles and visions expands as they tap into the different available colors and media.
My fifth-graders love their art kits. They even ask if they can take them home to keep working with abundant resources. They're responsible and take care of their kits.
I am so grateful to you for adding some color to our classroom!”

Mr. Landazuri
