• A Clean Place to Sit and Learn

  Thank you so much for helping to fund the Donors Choose A Clean Place to Sit and Learn project for our fantastic and amazing kids!! Thank you to all you wonderful parents, family, and friends for making it possible for us to replace our worn out rug with a new clean and relaxing place to gather and learn.

  My students were so incredibly excited when the carpet and wobble chairs arrived in our classroom. They could not wait to start using the wobble chairs and sitting on the new soft carpet. Their first reaction to the rug was to run their hands across it and exclaim, "It's so soft!" The wobble chairs have given students who need that little bit of movement throughout the day the opportunity to do so and have greater focus. Our comfortable carpet is an integral part of our learning each and every day. Students spend a large part of their day on the carpet for independent and partner work, whole group lessons, read-alouds, math and science lessons, and differentiated small group lessons. This carpet and wobble chairs will not only serve students this year but for many years to come. My students and I cannot thank you enough!”

• 3, 2, 1...Fly! Soaring with Coding

  Thank you so much for helping to fund the Donors Choose Coding with Drones project for our fantastic and amazing kids!! Thank you to all you wonderful parents, family, and friends for making it possible for us to have extended opportunities to explore and extend learning with the addition of this wonderful and exciting technology.

  My students were so incredibly excited when the drones arrived in our classroom. They could not wait to start applying their knowledge of coding to something that would fly. It's so inspiring to see how an opportunity to explore the field of robotics has provided them with a renewed sense of purpose during class. Students had already begun to explore concepts in computer science, but providing them with a chance to take what they have learned in class and apply it to these drones completely transforms their experience. They have been able to apply their coding skills to program the navigation of the drones using apps on the classroom iPads. While they are having fun flying the drones, what they are really doing is taking the concepts from our Computer Science lessons and applying them to a real life scenario, in this case piloting a drone! They have really had a great time while learning at the same time. No matter what level the student is at, this technology has provided a way for each student to be successful and further their own learning. These drones will not only serve students this year but for many years to come. My students and I cannot thank you enough!”

• iLearn with iPads!

Thank you to all you wonderful parents, family, and friends for making it possible for us to have extended opportunities to explore and extend learning with the addition of this wonderful and exciting technology. These iPads have sparked excitement in the learning environment in our classroom as well as improved students' learning. Students eagerly await the opportunity to use an iPad and now don't have to wait as long for the opportunity. They are extremely motivated to practice and master skills that would otherwise be difficult. The iPads have also opened up opportunities for students to unleash creativity in writing stories, creating projects, or extending their classroom learning using many different iPad apps. No matter what level the student is at, this technology has provided a way for each student to be successful and further their own learning. These iPads have transformed learning in our classroom! These iPads will not only serve students this year but for many years to come. My students and I cannot thank you enough!”

• "Teacher, Is It Time For Workstations?"

  Thank you for your generous and much appreciated gift to our classroom. Your generosity has given my students many new fun and motivating learning opportunities.

  The materials from this project have had great impact in our classroom. The interactive software has been a wonderful tool that has allowed integration of math and literacy games with technology into lessons. This software has provided for a very interactive and enjoyable way to practice skills as a whole class in team tournaments and independently or in small groups during Workstations at the computer stations. The pocket chart stand is a great addition to the class that gives students a place to manipulate words to find spelling patterns, create poetry, and practice a myriad of literacy and math skills. The story wands help guide students in their literature discussions and help them with reading comprehension. The lapboard center provides a central place where students can quickly retrieve their own lapboards to write down their ideas, work out problems, and show their thinking. Students are eager and motivated to work independently with the help of these materials.

  Your generous support helped make our classroom a place where the children can have fun exploring skills as a group and independently. These interactive games, earphones, pocket chart stand, story wands, and lapboard center inspire smiles and encourage growth and development in acquiring literacy, math, and technology skills. You have touched the lives of my students by helping them see the possibilities of independent learning through Workstations.
