Laptops for Distance Learning
Funded Dec 21, 2020The devices came right on time. Even if we are teaching some classes face to face, we must keep the distance from each other. Many lessons are still teaching through an online system inside the classroom. Some teachers are teaching from home while there is a teacher in classroom to watch over the students, virtual learning. My laptops have been used as backup in the classroom since I cannot count 100% on the laptops provided by the school district.
My students were excited to open the new device. I used to tell them about the project, so they could not wait to see the device. Each student wants to abandon his previous laptop so that he can use the new one. Some students even lie by saying that the laptop from the school is not working properly.
The next steps are to push my students to improve through technology. There is a program called Reflex Math that helps students to become fluent in operations. Students will spend more time on Reflex, which is a fluency program. The fluency skills must improve before they can go to the next level.”

Ready Laptops
Funded Oct 16, 2019My students and I were very excited when we received Laptop cart. My students are not used to laptop cart in the classroom. As a result, we used to utilize outlets all over the classroom to keep the laptops charging. When I wrote the project, I took time to explain to my students about the purpose of the laptop cart. They finally understand the purpose of the laptop cart because it allows the laptops to run all day without losing power and more importantly the laptops remain safe in a secure or locked place.
Furthermore, the job is done easily because the laptops can be charged efficiently. The computer-based programs will be improved in time usage from the students. Once again, on behalf of my students, I want to think all the donors. Your donation makes a huge difference in my teaching style and in my students' academic performance.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Chevron Fuel Your School.Monitor Students’ Works through Technology.
Funded Oct 24, 2018My students and I were very excited when we received the iPad and the printer. My students are not used to such a big printer in the classroom. When I wrote the project, I took time to explain to them the purpose of the printer and the iPad. They finally understand the purpose of the iPad now because I can monitor the students on the computer while doing small groups. I can easily manage those who are wasting time on the computer instead of doing their assigned works. The students know they are under the radar since I have my iPad in hands. This practice seems to be more relevant and will lead to students' success.
Furthermore, I have a lot of data to print from reflex math, weekly assessments, I-Ready reports and I Ready diagnostic. The weekly assessment data and I-Ready come in three different colors in order to identify the level of the students. The color printing makes it more visible and easier to place the students. Even my students are feeling more comfortable during data chat because we use color to label the students. Therefore, once they see their color, they automatically know how much effort they need to put in order to reach where they supposed to be.
Once again, on behalf of my students, I want to think all the donors. You donation makes a huge difference in my teaching style and in my students' academic performance.”
