The students will be given responsibility and autonomy in their learning in my blended classroom, allowing them the freedom to choose a seat that best suits their individual needs on that day. Allowing my students to move past the days of being stuck at a desk or table in an uncomfortable chair all day, students can pick which seat will be the most conducive to their learning. Options include exercise balls, yoga mats, kneeling stools, wobble stools, and standing desks. As our technology and teaching progress over the years, our students are left with the same old furniture of metal chairs and desks. In my blended classroom, my teaching approach mixes students learning in small groups, learning and collaborating with a peer, or viewing online videos to best suit their personal learning style. With this project, students can best assess themselves what their body needs to best enhance their learning. These approaches have been going on in the business and tech sector in companies in the Silicon Valley. Now we need to provide that same creative space for kids in the classroom to cuddle up with a favorite novel, chew on a challenging math word problem, and finish their personal narrative.
