Playing Chess to Train the Brain
Funded Aug 15, 2019Thank you so much for your kind generosity towards our classroom project. My students deserve to have an engaging course with all of the materials that are necesario to implement it. This is our first year offering an “elective” course to the fifth and sixth graders. The course I will be teaching will be using games to build critical thinking. Chess is the first of those games.”

Games! Games! and More Games!
Funded Nov 9, 2017My students and I are very thankful for your kind donations. My students needed board games like Trouble, Connect Four, HedBanz, Boggle and others to help them develop social skills, problem-solving strategies, and communication skills. I am happy to say that the games gave them t them options during our winter days.
Though I prefer physical activities, I found that not only the games were great to use during the winter days, they were excellent during the hot days at the end of the school year. Once again thank you.”

Inquiry Minds Need to Know
Funded Jul 18, 2017My students and I are truly grateful for your generosity. The easel is used daily to write our lesson objectives and to display the anchor charts for the lessons. It is important for students to know exactly what they are going to be learning. It is not different in the physical education classroom. I'm expected to inform my students the learning objective, which states specifically what a student should be able to do. Traditionally, I had been doing so orally missing those who are visual learners.
The passes are a great hit with my students. It helps them by making the process easier and faster when they have to leave the gymnasium for any reason.
Once again, thank you.”

Funded Feb 22, 2017Because of the generous hearts of people my students don't know (GATES Foundation), because of the generous heart of my wife, who is a teacher and understands the value of having a well-equipped classroom (gymnasium in my case), my students' parents as well as my students will be able to enjoy the bluetooth speakers.
We started to use the speakers in our gymnasium first. We've used it to project sound from the TV and from the Chromebook. I cannot wait to use it during our next parent event. These speakers will provide a much needed sound system for our large gymnasium at a very low cost. Thanks.”

Funded Jan 30, 2017I was so excited to have this project funded so swiftly. I'm excited specially because we are about to start the physical activity data collecting project with my students soon. We will be recording the daily steps my students take in the winter and compare that data to spring.
My students needed a Chromebook to help them with setting physical activity goals electronically. This piece of technology is taking me out of my comfort zone. I am lucky that my students are more knowledgeable than me. Thank you for being part of this endeavor.”

Funded Feb 13, 2017As a physical education teacher safety and efficiency are very important to me. It is part of my daily teaching. When my classroom received a 55" TV through the generous donations of people (Donorschoose project), I wanted to use it immediately, but didn't take into account that it would not be safe nor efficient to have the TV on mats.
I made a new project for the TV cart. But the project had me a bit worried. It had a red-clock on it with 5 days left. It was funded on time and my students and I have been able to use the TV on a cart that is safe and efficient, because it is very easy to roll in and out of my office.
Once again thank you for your kind donations towards the much needed cart for our 55" TV.”

Smart Television for My Smart Students
Funded Sep 14, 2016I want to thank you all for your awesome generosity on behalf of my students and myself. I am new to the Donorschoose community. I am grateful to know that there are people who are willing to go into their pockets and invest in our children - the future of our country.
I can't wait to completely implement the activities I've planned with all of my classes, I will use this smart television to enhance the learning process by integrating themes like how the heart works and the effects of exercise to their bodies.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Crespo
