Cultivating Future Imagineers
Funded Feb 17, 2018Your recent donation means that you understand just how valuable storytelling, animation, and self-expression can be to our students. Although these victories may seem small to the average person, you know that they are not. That's why you gave, and we are full of gratitude for your generosity.”

Animating Future Imagineers
Funded Mar 14, 2015On our journey to self expression and creativity,
Rocketeers have drawn using pencils. The students used paints to created murals. The children molded clay to create three dimensional characters. There was always a question that all the kids asked, "When are we going to make cartoons?"
We always talked about our favorite shows during art class and after school club. We talked about shows like Gravity Falls and Steven Universe. We watch videos about how these shows were created. We even read books and wrote our own scripts. I wrote a letter to parents and friends if they had old computers that they were not using. We got a strong response and got equipment to help us edit and take pictures. We only needed a few materials to reach our goal.
That's where "The Donors" came and you help us get our lights, stand, and paper to create our first short. We created a five minute pencil test. The short was a rocket flying through space. When we got the final materials the kids' eyes sparkled and they all shouted "AWESOME"! I'm excited that kids still say that!
The equipment we obtain helped students become experienced storytellers. These kids will become future documentarians, Oscar winning directors, or the next J.K. Rowling's. Someday perhaps you'll hear a thank you from an Oscar winner's speech or an article on Google News where a writer acknowledges a donor! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Chu
