• Organized Small Groups

  thank you donors for your generous donations. The items have already been put to great use. The Post-It note large pad and markers made making anchor charts much easier and the self adhesive allows me to put them anywhere they are needed. The biggest item the students have loved working with are the dry erase circles for the small group table. They all have their favorite color and want to make sure they get to use them. Getting them to show their work has never been easier. the double sided whiteboard has also help me teach at the small group table.

  Lastly the student love using the headphones when not with me to stay focused on their programs and not be distracted or distract the other students.”

• Instant Memories

  I have been able to make some memorable additions to the classroom recently thanks to your generous donations. The first thing we did was use the first package of film to take silly pictures to show the students how the photo printer and paper work. A side note was how the printer, prints one color at a time. The students love watching the film go in and out of the printer, first yellow, than cyan, and finally magenta and that somehow makes it full color!

  I then took a photo of each student and created a Star student section on the bulletin board. Students loving placing their photo there for the week. I also made a Multiplication facts Masters board. When students reach 100% of their facts their photo is added.

  In the future the plan is to bring the printer and paper with me on field trips and on the bus ride back to school print photos for students who could not bring a camera with him. Now that I am teaching two grade levels I have two fields trips to look forwards too!”

• Colorful Classroom

  Thank you so much for you donation to my classrooms project. The printer ink has been so useful in the classroom. First I started the school year off with no ink in my school issued black and white printer. The color printer and the ink has been a life saver being able to print the the papers I needed for copies and other things.

  I was able to add to my classroom theme this year to make an inviting place for my students to start the year. One assignment we started the year with was personal timelines, I was able to contact parents who weren't able to print photos out and they email, or messaged me the photos to print.

  I have also printed our science sorts for physical and chemical change in color which really helped the students sort the photos knowing what they were looking at.

  Lastly I have been able to print anchor charts for students to keep and place in their math binders. I know that this ink will be useful for the whole school year.

• Basic Needs

  Thank you for all of your help fullfining this project. I was able to get the binders, dividers and highlighters in time for Meet the Teacher. I created a free supply corner and let parent know that if they hadn't had a chance to get supplies please grab what they needed. Also I was able to give supplies today (first day of school) for those who didn't have what they needed. They were able to set their binders up for the year just like everyone else. The pencils were handed out and the extras place in an area of my room for use later.

• Future Proof Computer

  Thank you for your donating to provide my class this amazing computer. It has been so useful in these short few months. Your kindness has had a profound impact on my and my students learning experience.

  Over the summer I had the ability to teach a Science Summer Camp for incoming 5th graders. I was not in my own classroom and this computer was able to travel with me to my temporary classroom. We used the computer to research and explore the movement of objects in our solar system, the life cycle of complete vs incomplete metamorphic insects, as well as explore fun interactive programs in food chains.

  I have also been able to use the laptop to further my abilities as a teacher taking it to in person trainings on new curriculum expectations as well as online trainings. Lastly my team had the ability to plan over the summer and prepare for the upcoming school year.

• Color is More Engaging

  Thank you for your generous donations to "Color is More Engaging". The printer has be able to help no only me but my fellow teachers in the same building as me. We have been able to print colorful anchor charts the students can use to help them understand math, science and reading concepts. In science we have been able to print out color pictures to have the students complete sorts, helping them understand, types of energies as well as force and motion. I can't wait to use it to teach our Space unit. Black and white just doesn't do our solar system or universe justice. Our school also has a journalism club and last month was the first month we could provide those students a colored copy to keep to show their parents all their hard work!”

• Math Practice Boards

  The math practice boards have been a huge success in the classroom. The students were so excited to start using them. I have enough to provide each student one to use as well as have a few extras if/when a battery dies or they no longer work.

  They are used everyday by the students. From their computer programs to the daily math practice the students love using them.

  We are currently using them to help us draw models to add/subtract, as well draw models to multiply whole numbers and fractions.

  When given free time the students like to use them to draw and play games as well. I know they will be enjoyed now and in the future.”

• Prep for a Summer of Learning!

  Funded May 9, 2023

  The school year is barely over and I have been hard a work signing up for Summer Trainings as well as planning for 4th and 5th grade Summer School math and science curriculum. I have already set up the iPad and downloaded a digital planner to help me not only keep my notes straight but plan out my daily lessons for my students. The file folders have helped me print the worksheets and the directions for the science activities that I have planned coming up.

  I have already attended one in person training as well as two online trainings and being able to digital cut and paste the information into the eplanner has helped me keep track of important information as well a copy and paste charts that I would otherwise have had a hard time recreating. (an artist I am not!)

  I was also able to download the 155 page science pacing guide digitally onto the iPad instead of printing it, hole punching it, and finding a binder to place it in. Embracing the digital teacher lifestyle will take some getting used to but not having to carry a large teacher planner, a math teacher's guide, and a science teachers guide has been amazing so far.

• A Tablet for Learning

  Funded Jan 27, 2023

  Thank you to all the donors that help make this project a reality. It has been a few weeks and I can already let you know that the tablets have been put to good use. The students are actively learning how to code with the tablet after they have finished their work. A few students have even managed to code the robot to go around the trash can and back. The patrol captain has also used the tablet every day to help me monitor and reward the patrols that are doing an excellent job.

  I know that these tablets are going to continue to be used to learn and expand the students understanding of Math and Science for years to come.”
