Summer Learning to Avoid Summer Reading Slide!
Funded Mar 4, 2022Thank you so much for your support! This past summer and the training I attended have been so transformative for me as a teacher. I am so ready to begin working with students using the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching reading. I am ready for this because of your generosity, support and love for me and my students.
As some of you know, I am now back in SF as the Instructional Reform Facilitator at Rosa Parks Elementary School. This is a new role that will allow me to take my learning from the Summer and impact students school-wide. I will be using the strategies I learned to work in Small Groups with students as well as coach teachers on how to use these strategies in their classroom.
Thank you so much for everything! Looking forward to sharing more with you all!!!”

We're Back...and We Need Books!
Funded Aug 6, 2021Thank you so much for all of your support and love! Getting back into school has been a tricky experience for my awesome 6th graders, but all of your support has helped to smooth it out. My kiddos have gotten their love of reading back, thanks to you!
The amazing books that we received because of your generosity has changed the way that we engage with reading. Students feel more empowered to choose books that they are interested in. They are excited to read because they know that they have an almost endless amount of titles to choose from now.
My kiddos and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We are in awe of the generosity, love and support we have gotten from you all. Mahalo nui from all of us!”

Funded Oct 27, 2020Thank you so much for your support of our Future Scientists and Engineers! We are using all the materials to develop our inquiry and exploration skills. We are now working on building different machines with our materials like catapults and rafts!
All of these amazing projects are possible thanks to your generosity and love. The kiddos were ecstatic when they came to pick up their STEAM bags at school. They were blown away with all the materials they could now use t expand their minds as scientists, engineers, artists and mathematicians!
As we consider a return to in-person instruction, the students will continue to use these bags in the classroom as well. We will be able to use our materials AND collaborate with each other in ways we have not been able to throughout the pandemic.
I am so grateful for each and everyone of you (and so are the kiddos!) We love you all!”

Supplies for Keeping Equity at the Center of Our Classroom
Funded Feb 28, 2019Thank you so much for your love and support of Room 211. We have appreciated all that your generous donations have brought to our classroom. Your generosity has benefitted both second graders from the 18-19 school year, as well as the amazing second graders that just started the school year.
Room 211 was so excited for our new materials to arrive. They were so excited to unpack the boxes and dive into the journey they were now about to embark on. In science, we were able to use our goggles while making and testing a new type of glue. At the end of the year, our students became game show contestants and used their new buzzers to answer questions!
In this upcoming year, our students will be able to begin the year with book bins. This will help them keep their books organized so that they can spend most of their time doing what they love: READING!! On a personal note, I truly appreciate your continued support of our classroom!
Thank you so much for all of your love, generosity and support!”

Funded Jul 24, 2018Thank you so much for all your support and love!!! I do apologize that it has taken me a while to thank you all. With your support, Room 211 has been able to provide a space for everyone during instruction and work time! My students are so grateful for the carpet in their class. We use our carpet everyday in the classroom, whether it be for our morning meeting, direct instruction, or flexible seating.
Every morning, students come straight to their spots on the carpet. As they look for their spots, you can see their eyes light up with excitement as they are about to embark on a new educational journey. All of your support has provided moments like these for my students.
Thank you so much again, for all your support and love. My students and I truly appreciate it.”
With gratitude,
Mr. B
