  • Slime. Slime, Slime

    Funded Apr 1, 2023

Thank you for supporting my students. My goal as a teacher is to cultivate my students genius and hearing how often they ask me to make slime inspired me to create this project. We will use these kits to discuss what it means to be a maker and the Design Thinking process.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Berman

  • Podcast in the Class

    Funded Feb 27, 2023

Thank you for supporting my students and my classroom. These supplies will help my students to be able to create anything that they can dream of. They will be comfortable when playing games and will be able to create podcasts about games they are playing or any other subject. Thank you.”

  • Games Games Games

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to my project. We have been working on incorporating an eSports program at my school and your donation helps us greatly. Having more Joycon controllers has allowed more students to play the games at the same team. Having a wide variety of games has allowed the students to choose which they would like to play and has givend them more opportunities to practice communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.

Thank you for supporting my classroom and for allowing my students and myself to try new and innovative ideas.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Berman

  • eSports for eMazing Students

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

My students are computer scientists and future engineers. They are interested in the newest trends in technology and always want to learn new things. The Mario Kart Home Circuit is able to clearly show them how Augmented Reality technology can be used to create new experiences. This game inspired many to question and learn more about how Augmented Reality works while also brining joy to my classroom.

The games have allowed my students to have more choices of what to play and more opportunities to communicate, collaborate and be creative.

Thank you for supporting our classroom while the students and I work together on learning new 21st century skills through the use of technology.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Berman

  • Multiplayer eSports

    Funded Apr 11, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to this project. The Joy-con controllers helped us to expand our eSports curriculum by allowing more students to play at the same time. The students are now able to come up with different types of tournament structures and play team games together. They will use their creativity and critical thinking skills to come up with fun and fair ways to compete against each other.

The Mario Party game was one that my students requested and getting to play it will bring joy to many of my students.

My students and I greatly appreciate your support as we work together to try to find innovative ways to learn 21st century skills in the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Berman

  • Drones for Good

    Funded Dec 5, 2021

Thank you for supporting us in getting our DJI Mavic Air 2 Drone. Being able to get this drone has helped me to learn more about drone laws and drone safety. This knowledge has helped me to start developing the drone curriculum for our Engineering students.

With the students we have been able to discuss how drones can be used for good in the world. They have been able to see it fly and take pictures and videos around our community.

We have a specific group of students who are on a track to study at Vaughn College and getting this experience to see drones in Middle School will definitely inspire them to stay on this track!”

  • Makers Want to Make

    Funded May 4, 2021

Thank you for supporting my students with different Cricut materials. My students love to be creative and make new things. These materials help them to show their creativity and make anything that they can come up with.

Students have been learning about the Design Thinking Process and used these materials to help design their dream devices. They loved having the opportunity to design their dream devices. Students also were able to make gifts to people they are grateful for for Thanksgiving.

Next, I hope we can use these materials to help decorate my classroom!”

  • Drones for Good

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to our project. Before we had to start learning from home, students had a lot of fun playing with the drones that we have. Getting these new drones have given the students something to look forward to when we get back to the classroom.

Students will be able to dig deeper into different types of drone technology and learn more about how we can use them for good. We have talked to drone experts online and the students love to learn from them.

I know that when we get back to school, getting to use the drones will be one of the first things the students will want to do.”

  • Makey Your Own Arcade

    Funded Jan 20, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting our project. When we got the Makey Makey's we were extremely excited and started using them immediately. The students love to do hands on projects and it is amazing to see what the students have made with them already. It is always amazing to see the students smile when they first complete a circuit with the Makey Makeys.

Our first project with the Makey Makeys was to make a video game controller for a game they coded using Scratch. Students loved to share the games they created and the controllers they made with the other staff at our school.

For our next project the students will try to make a joystick controller for their games.”

  • A Labo for my Classo

    Funded Aug 6, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to this project. I very much believe that we should be using what students like in their lives to help them in school. School should look very similar to the real world and not be something totally different for our students to experience.

The Nintendo Switch got my students very excited. They are excited to play the games but also build the different Labo Kits. While having fun, the students will learn about the 21st Century Skills. They will use communication and collaboration to work together to build the kits as well as their creativity to design them.

These kits will fit perfectly into our game design unit. Students will have fun using them but will also be able to critically think about what makes the games work and why we like to play them. This will be a very powerful tool for us to use and will motivate the students to create their own games!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Berman

I am teaching our school's first ever computer science class where the students are learning about physical computing and how humans interact with the digital world. We are looking for resources to help students build whatever they can come up with such as 3D pens, Sphero robots, Makey Makey and other art supplies. The students will use these tools for their next project where they will create their own games for an arcade as well as future projects. These tools will help the students learn 21st Century Skills and support their computer science education. We are preparing students in middle school for a world that does not yet exist when they graduate college so we would like to give them opportunities now that will help them be successful in the future.
