Collaborative Dry-Erase Table for Small Groups
Funded Mar 25, 2025Thank you all for your help! My students are very excited to work at this new dry-erase table. And thanks to you, they will have a quality work space and a great experience of learning. It's going to be a wonderful opportunity for them to work together and be engaged in practicing their math skills and word work. We have students with all learning abilities and this workspace will help them receive immediate feedback and support with challenging skills. Look forward to pictures, smiles, and many notes of thanks from our kids. Thanks to you all!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 8 other donors.A Place to Share, Learn, and Grow
Funded May 11, 2016My fifth graders and myself are so appreciative of our new rug that was funded by such generous donors. We now have one of the most beautiful rugs in our school. It is one of the first things that students and parents noticed on our first Open House and on the first day of school. Not only is is beautiful, but it is large enough for all of the fifth grade bodies during Morning Meeting and other whole group activities, and it's educational!
This rug is a central point in our classroom as we begin and end every single day on it. We are a Responsive Classroom and hold Morning Meetings and Closing Circles daily. Having a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing area to meet is important. It allows for students to feel welcome and happy when we are together. Throughout the school day, you will almost always find students on the rug working independently or in groups because it is such a nice place to be. So, thank you again, Donors for helping us get a new rug for our classroom!”

Tools to Stimulate Creativity
Funded Nov 15, 2014My students and I are so grateful and appreciative of your donations towards our learning and creativity. There are so many academic demands on our students that it is easy to forget about the importance of letting kids be kids and supporting their creativity.
Since the craft paper and stickers have arrived, students have been more excited to take the Author's Boxes and create wonderful writing pieces. They are so excited to share their writing pieces and show how they have displayed or created a visual to go with it. This interest of writing is at home and in the classroom. Students ask if they can create pictures, covers, and more to go with their writing.
The extra Hokki stools have also been a huge benefit to the students need for movement; especially with the severe cold weather and lack of outside recess for multiple days since our holiday break.
Thank you for helping us with supplies for our classroom.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Pike
Get The Wiggles Out
Funded Aug 27, 2014Thank you so much for your generosity and interest in my students' learning. These Hokki stools are well used and enjoyed by everyone every day. My students love them! Students who are more active and need to keep moving benefit from them because they can still move and stay on task rather than becoming increasingly fidgety and loosing focus. Other students have been able to use them for small group work. Students and adults have found these chairs to be lightweight and easy to move from group to group helping with transition times. The class has also discovered that we do not have enough of them and have come together to create their own system for sharing them.
Again, thank you for helping and inspiring my students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Pike
Technology Protection and Productivity
Funded Apr 6, 2014Thank you for your generous donations for the iPad screen protectors, laptop protective case, and the stylus pens. It's amazing how happy the students get when they open a box with such items and are genuinely happy and understand that it was a gift from donors like you. They are learning the importance of giving and of appreciation.
Many students are so use to seeing technology everywhere that it is easy to forget the importance of taking care of it. These screen protectors, protective laptop cover, and stylus pens help ensure that the pads and laptop will have a longer life within the classroom. These tools are used wily by students in k-5 and we plan on using them for many years to come. The stylus pens allow for more functionality with the iPads and also keep the screens a little cleaner than with little fingers wiping all over them every day.
Thank you for the opportunity that you have provided for my students. They are building 21st Century skills because of donors like you!”

Supporting STEM for Growing Minds
Funded Mar 21, 2014Thank you for your generous donations for the 8 new iPads, the Mac Air, and the protective cases. I wish you could have seen and heard the excitement when that box from amazon was delivered to the classroom. Many of my students do not have access to iPads outside of school and to see a huge box be delivered is pretty amazing!
The additional technology in our classroom has already had such an impact on instruction and student learning. I will be piloting a technology management project in our school using ht MacAir and students in my second grade classroom use the iPads daily. Fifth grade students have used the iPads while researching for and recording their end-of-year IB Exhibition projects, and teachers have begun to explore the possibilities within their own classrooms. We even made the front page of the local newspaper for using technology in innovative ways when we Skype with a student who is unable to attend school regularly due to a medical condition. She can now access most of the curriculum via Skype and the Internet.
We definitely live in an informational age where so much is technologically-based. My students are learning how to use these tools for more than just gaming. These iPads are used daily for reading, writing, math, research, and video conferencing. Students are reading books, taking Accelerated Reader quizzes, practicing math skills on both apps and web-based programs, and blogging about their learning! When I look at how independent my students have become and the responsibility they take for their learning I am grateful.
Thank you for the opportunity that you have provided for my students. They are building 21st Century skills because of donors like you!”

Easel for Learning and Teaching
Funded Feb 16, 2013Thank you for your generous and caring donations towards our new class easel. With class sizes increasing and funds decreasing, we do not always have updated supplies to benefit our children. This easel is awesome! It is used daily by students and teachers. We use it for morning messages, daily language tasks, math, and more. It has really made lessons easier for me to present to children since it is on wheels, has a dry-erase board on both sides, and holds a chart pack for other writing.
Your generous and caring contributions has provided a model for my students of how when people in the community work together, great things happen. This is in invaluable lesson by itself. We also appreciate the help towards new and updated supplies for our classroom.”

Ms. Pike
Chair Covers to Organize
Funded Feb 20, 2013Thank you for donating to our class project, Chair Back Buddies. The class sizes seem to be getting bigger every year and we just don't have the funds available for additional supplies each year. My students work at tables and share many of their basic supplies which promotes social skills and collaboration, but do not have an individual place to keep their own math journal and writing work. Now, they do. These chair covers with pockets have helped make more room for students to move around the classroom, limit transitions of passing books out, and help the boys and girls to be more organized.
The students and I appreciate the donations that so many people were able to contribute to help our class get the Chair Back Buddies. Your caring and generous attitude has helped us meet a goal, gain supplies for our classroom, and provided a model of how when people in the community work together, good things happen!”

iPads For 21st Century Learning
Funded Aug 13, 2012Thank you for your generous donations for the new iPads in our classroom. Originally, I had hoped to provide additional resources for students to improve math skills while differentiating and integrating technology in the 21st Century. These iPads have done so much more! There is so much versatility with the iPads and students have become very comfortable navigating the web as well as a variety of educational apps.

iTouch for Innovative Learning
Funded Dec 8, 2011Thank you so much for the new technology that you have donated and provided for our students! My students have used these iTouches every day since they first opened the package. They may only be in second grade but have discovered many innovative ways to use them in our everyday curriculum; practicing math facts, accessing the Internet to research extreme weather conditions for a project, taking pictures and videos, and reading books.
Our school and district have undergone many budget cuts in the past year. Without your help, my students would not have been able to use technology like this in school. By using new technology, my students have been learning to think more creatively and have grown more comfortable with a variety of 21st-century tools to enhance their learning.
We are learning in the 21st century thanks to donors like you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Pike
