Pay It Forward
Funded Jan 28, 2022With your donation my students were able to create individual care packages with daily essentials: deodorant, a new toothbrush, toothpaste, and shampoo.
We were able to make about 150 goodie bags.
In each package students also designed and wrote a card with an inspirational message.
The goodie bags were given to The Staten Island Giving Circle who presented them to our veterans on Staten Island at their annual luncheon on Veterans Day on our behalf.
The recipients expressed their appreciation and gratitude.
This activity allowed for a real world service experience and allowed students the opportunity to share stories about veterans in their families.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Nickelodeon and 2 other donors.Because we care
Funded Jan 24, 2022As part of our social emotional class I explained to my students how our project was funded with all of these supplies and that it would be packaged and sent as a care package. They were elated!!!! We immediately got to planning as many classes will be involved in this project as part of their "Leadership" class within the competency of developing social awareness. Do You Hear What I Hear?
Funded Apr 14, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity. My students will use these supplies all day, everyday for many years to come !
My students have been so enthusiastic about using our Chromebooks and Google Classroom. The use of headphones has allowed my students to listen to educational videos. These headphones have allowed my students to succeed using today's technology. We are a Title I school and most of my students could not afford to bring in their own pair.
Through your generous donations I was able to provide my students with their own headphones, which has drastically improved my instruction.
Utilizing technology allows my students to facilitate stronger learning and experience new things. The headphones will help them to work more efficiently because they will not be distracted by the noise of their fellow classmates.
Your contributions toward these products has definitely had a positive impact on my students. My students were very grateful to have these products available to them. Thank you.”

Cool down
Funded Jul 5, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity. My students will use these supplies all day, everyday for many years to come ! My classroom had no windows and was almost unbearable to breathe in during hot days. These fans do a phenomenal job at cooling down the room using ion technology. Keeping students engaged especially when it is beautiful outside is a challenge in itself.
Your contributions toward these products has definitely had a positive impact on my students. My students were very grateful to have these products available to them. Thank you.”

Social Emotional Remote Learning
Funded Nov 23, 2020Since March 2020, our whole way of teaching and student learning has changed. Things I have done as a teacher for years such as creating class sets of activities to be completed as a group are no longer acceptable with the health crisis we are currently navigating through. This project allowed me offer students engaging digital learning tools and activities related to social emotional learning: time management, mindfulness, gratitude, empathy, and so on that they can use on their own devices. I shared these activities using Google Classroom. Thank you so much for supporting my students during this uncertain time.”

This classroom project was brought to life by AT&T and 4 other donors.Allergy Necessities
Funded Mar 6, 2020My student will use these supplies all day, everyday! Especially during cold, flu, and allergy season, tissues are essential ! Students are taught to maintain personal hygiene so they use a tissue followed by the hand sanitizer to prevent spreading and sharing germs! This has been a very effective practice. At the conclusion of each day I spray each of their desks with Lysol and open the windows so that by the next morning we have fresh and clean work spaces. Since some of my students have sensory issues and the Lysol scent bothers them I follow that up by spraying some febreze. Paper towels are kept by the sink for students to use after they wash their hands. Once a week, I use the Lysol wipes to deep clean the desks.
Your contributions toward these products has definitely had a positive impact on my students. My students were very grateful to have these products available to them. Thank you.”
