For over 15 years, the library at MPE and PC has been my passion. The Elementary library was created in 1995-1996 with a building-wide renovation project. I am incredibly grateful for the space that was created over 30 years ago. The furniture from that era is no longer meeting the needs of 21st-century learners. We need our classroom to be flexible and more conducive to learning because the library is not just about books, but all forms of literacy. New furniture in the library will help students attain flexible seating and allow them to create collaborative learning spaces. The project is the first of a multi-step plan to create a learning environment where students will feel comfortable, work together, and ultimately excel.
