Our ultimate goal is to establish an up-to-date creative recording studio to challenge students, improve cognition, understanding, reasoning, insight and perception of the rapidly changing world that will consume them. I believe Music provides the vehicle which can challenge, entertain, educate and provide interactive experiences, breakdown prejudice, thwart bullying, stimulate sense of community, sharing, harmony, unity, and most importantly build a strong work ethic. The concept beginning with a thought, a word, a “theme”…sparks a melody, then a tune, generating a lyric, then a song enlightens students to the world through the magic of music. The students experience the creative process (from a mere vision to something tangible) together they learn the song, first as a vocal, add musical score and finally perform, record and share their creation. A collaborative effort encompassing a variety of skills, thought processes, motor activities, enriching senses of vibration, sound, and feeling. Enriching their lives, their siblings and parents, neighbors and community. To achieve this reality updating the school’s old tools to modern new ones is paramount. It creates interest and excitement, curiosity, competition and togetherness. We are hoping for a new amplifier and microphone kit along with 2 microphone cables.
