  • Literacy and Math Materials

    Funded Aug 19, 2022

Thank you for helping our classroom get materials to help organize our classroom. The plastic pockets are perfect for holding class materials and materials that we can use in centers or groups. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards have helped me buy supplemental materials that support our curriculum. I have also used them to buy fun, holiday themed activities that are academically based like Halloween and Fall math escape rooms and logic puzzles. The kids love these and they have fun completing them in small groups. I will use the rest of the TPT gift cards to buy materials that add to our curriculum in Social Studies, Math, and Language Arts.

I really appreciate your support of my students and their learning!”

  • Organization and Small Group Instruction Materials

    Funded Aug 3, 2022

I have been putting these materials to good use! The spice rack shelves are on my white board holding books of the week, including "Abdul's Story." I have used the cardstock, pens, and laminating sheets for decorations for our class as well as materials like instructions, etc for groups or for posting in the room. The ink and photo paper were used already to make a bulletin type board on our door with selfies of each student and a poster that reads "Let's Change the World Together."

I first received a rolling whiteboard that was broken. It took a little bit to get a new one but now it is here and I finally got it put together. I am looking forward to using it with small groups but also whole group when we need to make charts. I have a promethean board covering most of my class's white board so I need this for chart making.”

  • iPad for Creativity

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

My students have really gotten into producing our school's weekly "news" segments. The use of the iPad is central to this! The students get scripts which they memorize. Then we use a green screen and choose backgrounds for each segment. The students also use the iPad to record short "skits" that are used in the news to demonstrates rules or proper behavior. The weekly news that we record is then shared with all the teachers who show it on Monday morning to their classes. It is a wonderful way for the kids to be creative while making a final product that serves a purpose. The whole school enjoys watching these weekly news segments.

Your donation helped make this happen and I am very thankful for that! My students and future students thank you as well!”

  • Fluent Readers Need a Novel!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you for your generosity in donating to this project so that my students can have a class set of "Island of the Blue Dolphins" and I can have a teacher's guide so we can study some core literature. Besides working towards English Language Arts standards with this book, it also has information relevant to our Social Studies unit on Indigenous Americans.

We haven't started reading it yet but I know the students will really enjoy it. I have told them about the book and that we will be reading it. They are very excited and looking forward to it. Thank you for making this possible!”

  • Books to Build Understanding and Inclusion

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

I haven't received the books yet but am anxiously awaiting their arrival. I can't wait to do read alouds with my students using these books. The nature of the books will give way to conversations about ethnicity and race. My goal is for all my students to feel seen in our room. I am also hoping that they will all share with us about their ethnicity, culture, customs, etc. I have projects lined up that will work well with these books also. Students will not only get to share about their own ethnicities, cultures, and customs, but will also get to learn about others.”

  • Charting Our Way to Success!

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for providing my class with all the amazing charting supplies! We have been using them non-stop to chart all of our ideas and learning. We have also used them to do surveys and anonymous information sharing. It is so useful to have chart paper with sticky tape on the back so they can be moved around easily. They can be hung pretty much anywhere. This helps students access previous learning and/or anchor charts we make while learning. The colorful markers help delineate information on the charts to make them easier to read for the students. They also help bring some color to our charts.”

  • Charged Up for Learning!

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

The charging station and charging station/lock box have already been put to good use in our classroom! Students who do not want to take their device back and forth from school are able to keep it safely locked in the classroom and charge it at the same time. This has made me feel more secure about keeping devices in the classroom when we aren't here. The smaller charger is great for those students who forget to charge their devices at home. They can just plug in their device and charge it up so they don't miss anything in class!”

  • Whiteboards for Learning!

    Funded May 4, 2021

I will be using these whiteboards, dry erase markers, and erasers this coming year when we go back to school in person! Students LOVE using whiteboards to show their work! It is also very helpful to me so I can do quick checks and keep an eye on how each student is doing. This is especially important in classes of 35 students! It allows me to get an idea of my next steps in teaching when I can see how students are doing with the lessons.

Thank you so much for making this project possible and providing these items to my classroom! They will be invaluable not only for this year but for years to come!”

  • Art Supplies for Distance Learning

    Funded Dec 18, 2020

I cannot thank you enough for your support! My students were crazy excited about the art supplies! I have a large group that is really talented in visual arts and the art materials have allowed them to work with different mediums and expand the types of art lessons they can do. The students can do really different types of art with pastels and water colors than they can with just crayons and colored pencils. Besides using these materials with the lessons I assign, they have been using them with our art teacher. This has enabled her to expand her lessons as well since we are virtual at this time and not all the students have art supplies at home. Now, thanks to you, they do!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

We are in a large school district that has been severely hit by budget cuts. We have very few supplies and there is definitely no money to be spent on updating, fixing, or getting new technology in the classrooms. Most of my students come from homes where they don't have computers because they can't afford them. They are 5th graders who will be going to middle school next year and will be expected to know how to do research on the Internet, use word processing programs to write papers, and create presentations using technology. I want to provide them with the opportunity to learn how to do these things. The class is very enthusiastic and sweet. They enjoy being active learners and are excited at the prospect of learning how to use technology.
