Using Our Senses to Explore Math and Science Concepts!
Funded Sep 8, 2023Thank you so much for your donations for this project for my early childhood special education students. We have been BUSY this fall exploring all of the materials that you were funded. Students are having fun exploring magnetic roads through the cities that they are building with their magnetic blocks. Students have been enjoying individual sensory play by exploring the sinks when they just need a little break from the school day.
We have also been using the magnetic blocks to count, sort and build creative structures. Those may be a favorite in the classroom right now.
Your contributions to fund this project are so appreciated. Once again, thank you so much for supporting my little learners.”

Funded Nov 8, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donation.
We have been using all of the materials and have been especially enjoying our sensory tools so that we can be regulated and ready for the school day. We love the magnetic cars and the wooden rainbow stacking blocks. My students have been enjoying building tunnels and bridges with the new colorful blocks and then driving cars on, around and in them!
My students were so excited when I started to bring out the new materials. They quickly dropped what they were doing and came over to look to see what I had.
Students have also been having fun playing with play-doh and creating and experimenting with it as well as the play dough tools. We have also enjoyed drawing and writing on the tablets.
Again, thank you so much for your generous donation!”

Funded Oct 1, 2021Thank you so much for your very generous donation for Hands on Science and Math Materials for my early learners! It is donors like you that help to provide hands on materials for students and it is so appreciated!
We are using the new resources during guided small group and active learning times throughout our school day. My students have been so excited to explore with these hands on materials and every time we pull them out, they are eager to explore!
My students have especially enjoyed the number locks, the busy book, the glow up cubes for the water table and the kinetic sand! These materials have helped my students become more independent!
Once again, thank you so much for your generosity!”

Funded Apr 13, 2019Thank you so much for your contribution towards my Donors Choose for Sensory Supplies for ECSE. My students, who are 3 to 5 year old children with significant developmental delays rely on sensory processing materials and activities to help them learn about their world. Sensory breaks are often needed so students can focus on lessons and other classroom activities.
We have a beautiful sensory/motor room complete with a large ball pit. The ball pit balls often get crushed or flattened, and so we are always in need of more balls to make sure that students have safe. My students were absolutely thrilled to see the ball pit full of balls once again! Students are having fun lying in the balls, sinking in the balls and "swimming" their way from one corner to the next.
It is donor's like you that make these projects so successful. My students and I are so blessed to, once again, be able to get the supplies that we need to learn and grow!
Thank you so much for your generosity!”

Funded Feb 12, 2019Thank you all for your donations towards my Building and Creating project here on Donor's Choose! My students have enjoyed using all of the materials! Students have especially enjoyed the colorful floor tile! They love jumping and stepping on it as well as using their fingers to draw and experiment with it. Students have also enjoyed using the paper crimper for multiple projects. The paper crimper applies texture to regular paper that provides a sensory opportunity for my students to feel on their bodies! Students have also enjoyed decorating many different things using the peel and stick pom poms. In the past, we have had to use regular pom poms and Elmer's glue to attach them. Students have had to wait a long time before they are able to feel the pom poms on their crafts. The peel and stick pom poms allow students to feel and explore right away without needing to wait for glue to dry! Again this adds a sensory element for my sensory seeking friends! Students have also enjoyed using their creative minds to build in the water table with the building blocks. They love that the blocks stick together (with water) so they can build 3d buildings and other things. It is donor's like you that make these projects possible and thank you all very much!!”

Maximizing Motor Movement
Funded Oct 8, 2018We have now received all of our items for our motor room! Our motor room is now up and running and I could not be happier! Words cannot express how thankful I am for all of the donations!
Our ball pit is now safely sitting on top of the foam floor mats to provide extra protection and is full of colorful balls! Students are enjoying "swimming" in the balls and love the sensory experience!
We are also using the foam floor mats under climbing equipment as an extra layer of protection and to help students build confidence as they learn to climb!
The trampoline is another favorite! Students love the colors and love jumping, jumping and jumping!
Thank you all for your donations. I am beyond excited for my students and to have a safe, welcoming and developmentally appropriate environment for my students.”

Funded Sep 26, 2017Words cannot express how thankful I am for you. Music therapy has, once again, been such a wonderful experience for my students, staff and myself. Our music therapist has been patient, kind, prepared and such a blessing to our classroom. My students and I look forward to her weekly visits, and without you this would not have been possible.
Each week my students have had the opportunity to engage in various activities through the use of music. Students have had the opportunity to learn to play new instruments, be patient while they wait their turn, participated in matching activities, worked together to play with a parachute and other functional skills such as using language, self-regulation and following directions.
Sessions are 30 minutes long and my students are engaged throughout the entire process. They sit, they participate and learn new concepts in such a motivating and unique way that captures them. They have already learned so much and I cannot wait to see and learn the wonderful things that are yet to come.
Again, thank you SO much for your generosity.”
