Currently, there is a lot of interest in ceramics at HHS. I teach Ceramics I and Ceramics II, reaching about 150-175 students per year. The students are 9th through 12th graders. Over the course of a semester the students will learn a variety of different handbuilding techniques, including pinch pot, slab construction and coil techniques. The students will also learn how to create bowls, mugs and lidded jars on the potters wheel. We discuss and create functional work, as well as, sculptural work.
