In tenth grade geometry, Mrs. Rogers was rambling on and on about the formula for two-dimensional figures. blah blah rectangle blah blah triangle... *CLICK!* Something hit me... but it wasn't a paper airplane this time. Something in my brain finally started firing: if the area for a rectangle is found by b x h, then the area of a triangle is half of that! 1/2 x b x h WOAH!
I'm a total nerd, but light bulb moments are what I live for. I strive every day to see my students wake up to the world around them. Especially in math, I want to make things make sense.
These projects are to help me encourage those moments when life *clicks* and make sure that my students have the tools they need to make those connections.
