Struggling learners need to learn in environments that foster collaboration and exploration. 3D printers are part of 21st century learning materials. Our kids should have access to technologies that will help them innovate. MakerSpace is a movement that couples constructivist ideology with construction-based practices. It is the hope that having such a space will encourage our lowest level performers to try new things and use their skills to develop other academic areas. Through the MakerSpace movement, we are able to engage learners who are otherwise disengaged. We are able to take students who exhibit apathy and foster better work habits, a stronger sense of self, and a desire to do more through innovation and construction. These materials will help to develop design, science. and mathematics skills necessary for remaining competitive in the global market.
