  • Imagination Through Reading

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you so much for funding my projected Imagination through Reading! After receiving the materials my classroom library has begun to look much more full and the students have begun to take more of an interest in reading.

When students finish their work they are allowed to go and choose books to read and some have even asked me if they can take a book out to recess with them to read. Sometimes students will even ask if they can read instead of do their computer programs. Others have picked books out and brought them over to read to me.

It was wonderful to see the sparkle in their eye as the books arrive in our classroom and that continues to be there as they explore and learn to read. Thank you again for all of your help in making this happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Meadows

  • Littles Learning with a Little Disney Magic

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation which helped me get the MacBook Air. It has especially helped me create and implement engaging lessons for my students throughout this pandemic; from distance learning, hybrid learning, to in class instruction. On a daily basis I was able to create my entire day in Google Slides and present each lesson to my students in the Google Meet. Upon returning to school, I was able to have the school laptop presenting the presentation and use the MacBook Air to type into the presentation or have students type into it making my lessons more interactive. I will continue to implement the previously mentioned and more in the upcoming school year. Thank you again for all your help in helping me to help my students learn!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Meadows

Everything in my classroom is to help keep students focused, foster student choice, and communication. If you walked in my classroom you would see students sitting in a variety of ways. The students choose their seating everyday (wobble cushions, stability balls, fidget bands, and kore wobble stools). I also have a carpet in front of the board for morning meetings, and gathering time. I try to keep them moving around. Students sit in table groups to allow communication and use of sentence stems which are situated on each desk. I also have a "freeze zone." Students that need a break or to cool down may go there and use a variety of tools to calm themselves down. I use Whole Brain Teaching; there is a Super Improver wall with all of the students levels. I love to foster movement and it helps students learn!
