  • A "Well-Balanced" Science Class!

    Funded Jul 17, 2013

Thank you so much for supporting the education of my students! The students are always very excited when they have new tools to learn with. They were very excited when the packages arrived and we opened them. They could not wait to begin using them. Initially, they were given an opportunity to explore the triple-beam balances to see how they worked, and then we were able to begin to use them to learn about mass and measuring with the metric system. The students are always very excited during science, and they will benefit greatly from having these tools available.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Because of your donation, the educational journey of many students will be impacted, not only this year, but in many years to come, as the triple beam balances are utilized for science lessons. Thank you for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marson

  • Please Don't Make Us Sit on the Floor!

    Funded Oct 22, 2012

Thank you so much for the support you have shown us through your donation. The ocean-themed carpet in our science lab has created a warm environment where students can gather together to read and explore science concepts together. I work with many enthusiastic students, and they were so happy when they saw the addition of the carpet to our classroom. They loved the vivid colors and many discussions began around the wonder of the sea creatures that are found on the rug.

Your donation has really made an impact in my class and my students and I are very grateful for your generosity. Thank you for supporting the science education of many young students. Thank you also for helping to create a wonderful place for learning in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marson

  • Do You See What I See?

    Funded Oct 11, 2012

Thank you for the wonderful generosity you have bestowed toward my students and our classroom! The document camera had truly impacted our learning in a positive way. My students were so excited and amazed when we began using the document camera for our lessons. Class after class, I kept hearing, "Wow! That's so cool!" Everyone was enthusiastic about coming forth and participating because they wanted the opportunity to interact with our new technology! They were all very confident as they shared their observations and data from our scientific investigations.

Once again, thank you for your generosity and for supporting the academic endeavors of my classroom. The document camera helps our lessons come alive in a way that was missing before. My students and I are filled with thanksgiving for the kindness you have shown us!”

  • Science Sparks Our Creativity! (Part II)

    Funded Sep 24, 2012

Words cannot express the gratitude I have for the generosity you have shown myself and my students. Your donation helped to crayons, markers, colored pencils and glue sticks. My students are using these materials to create authentic representations of their science knowledge. They have completed independent science fair projects, created observations logs and various projects for topics in earth, life and physical science.

The students are enthusiastic about completing the projects, especially when there are adequate supplies for them to choose from to express their creativity, along with what they have learned. You have made this possible! My students and I will be thinking of you, with thanksgiving, each time we are using our markers, crayons, colored pencils and glue sticks for a new learning adventure!”

  • Science Sparks Our Creativity! (Part I)

    Funded Jul 30, 2012

Words cannot express the gratitude I have for the generosity you have shown myself and my students. Your donation helped to secure numerous packets of construction paper that are being used in our science lab each day. My students have used the construction paper to create displays of their science knowledge. Among the projects, we have made posters of animal life cycles, observation logs and created displays for our science fair.

The students are enthusiastic about completing the projects, especially when there are adequate supplies for them to choose from to express their creativity, along with what they have learned. You have made this possible! My students and I will be thinking of you, with thanksgiving, each time we are using our construction paper for a new learning adventure!”

  • "Building" Our Science Knowledge!

    Funded Dec 31, 2011

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Your donation made it possible for my students to learn so much more as we studied about simple machines. We read books about simple machines and wrote about them also, but it really came alive when we were able to take out the simple machine kits and build them with our own hands! Many of my students are visual and kinesthetic learners, so having these tools available for us to work with made our experience learning about simple machines much more meaningful.

The students worked in groups and were able to build examples and explain the uses of a lever, pulley, wheel and axle, inclined plane, wedge and screw. They were overly excited when they first learned that they would be able to build their own simple machines and were proud of themselves when they were finished. You made all of this possible...and we cannot thank you enough for this opportunity! ”

  • Rock Stars

    Funded Oct 22, 2011

Thank you so much for your generous donation! Teaching an earth science unit can be really challenging, however, your donation of the rock, mineral and fossil sets made it much more meaningful for the students in my class. In the past I would have to rely on photographs of different rocks and minerals, but this time the students were able to actually hold and observe samples with their very own hands! The students were very excited!

My students were able to observe different types of rocks and minerals and record observations about their characteristics. They recorded observations that described the size, shape, color, texture and any patterns that were found on the samples. They also used identification keys to find the name of their rock and minerals. The students were very much engaged throughout the entire experience.

My student and I are very thankful and appreciate this wonderful donation to our class. You have enriched our learning experiences greatly. You rock!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Marson

  • Ready, Set, Learn!

    Funded Oct 7, 2011

Thank you so much for the donation of student timers for our science classroom. Having these timers has opened up the opportunity to perform so many different experiments that we needed timers for. In the past, we only had the classroom clock, which was not very accurate for timed experiments, or one stopwatch, which was also difficult to share among eight groups of students in each class.

Having the student timers has allowed us to time chemical reactions, calculate heart rates per minute, and to complete a variety of other projects. Some students were also able to borrow them to collect data for independent science projects. These timers have become an invaluable tool for our science lab.

My students and I are full of gratitude for your generosity. You have opened up windows of opportunity for us that we may have otherwise missed. Your contribution has allowed for many wonderful learning experiences this school year!”

  • Slicing and Dicing: A Dissection Experience

    Funded Mar 21, 2009

I would like to thank each of you for the contribution that you made to my science lab. Our three eighth grade classrooms were each able to work in groups to complete a fetal pig dissection. I would have to say that this was the highlight of our lab experiences this year. The students were all very eager and excited to participate. They had been learning about the human body systems and completing the dissection was a way for them to experience, hands-on, what the organs of our body look like and how they are interconnected to one another. While leading the students through the dissection it was very rewarding to see them so excited. They looked like little surgeons when they were wearing their aprons, gloves and goggles. However, the best part was seeing them take ownership over the project. We invited the lower grade classrooms to come and visit the students as they were finishing the dissections, and the eighth graders were able to show and explain the functions of the various organs in the fetal pig. This was a wonderful learning experience that I am sure the students will never forget. Thank you for being so generous in your donation. It is greatly appreciated! ”

  • I Just Saw a Chicken in That Class!

    Funded Mar 26, 2008

I would like to thank you, both personally, and on behalf of my students, for your support and generosity, toward our educational pursuits. My students are always very excited when they come to the science lab, and they are going to be thrilled to know that we are going to be able to have live baby chicks in our classroom as we complete our life cycle unit—this will be much more engaging than just looking at pictures in a book. We will get to hold the new life that develops right before our eyes in our very own hands! It is a wonderful sight to watch the excitement of students as they are exploring and making discoveries. Thank you for making our chicken incubation project possible. This project will impact many students’ lives—and surely it will be a learning experience that they will remember for a lifetime. Thank you once again for your wonderful contribution toward my students learning! It is greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Michelle ”
