In my classroom I work with 10 amazing special needs five and six-year old students that all face challenges during their learning activities. We are at a Title 1 school in Texas. My students come from very low-income families. Most of them come with little to no exposure to any kind of education. These students are in a classroom for kindergarten age students with various disabilities which include autism, intellectual disabilities, speech impairments, and physical disabilities. Many are from minority and low socioeconomic homes. My students are adorable and friendly. They LOVE to be at school and just like any other kindergartener, they love exploring the world around them and learning new things. It is just a little more difficult for my students since they do not have typical developmental levels and need hands-on materials to help them overcome their learning differences.
