Full STEAM Ahead!
Funded Sep 2, 2015My students were extremely impressed and grateful that I was able to use the Chromebooks in the classroom. At first they did not believe me when I said I had laptops for them to use. However, upon revealing them, they were happy that so many people cared enough about them to donate to help them succeed. It takes a lot to impress teenagers these days and this donation has absolutely done just that.
The students who are currently using them are a class of twelfth graders who are working on the college admissions process, as well as completing their regular English Language Arts essays. They are seamlessly using the Chromebooks as they type because they all have Gmail accounts and edit them on Google Docs. They are writing an essay for my class and working on their personal statement for college. They will also be using them to go on to the next step: college applications.
The students are able to edit their work in class and are better focused because they do not have to use the tiny screen on their phone. I am also able to edit Docs with them in the classroom as they work due the features available via Google. It also saves time and paper because they can edit in class, then print out their final drafts. They are also getting used to typing their work because in college and in the work world, everything must be typed and properly formatted. The Chromebooks are preparing them for the world after high school.
Me and my students are grateful to our generous donors.”

Positively Positive and Prepared for Success!
Funded Oct 6, 2010This is a small token of thanks for your help in the form of your generous donation to my classroom and our school. The books are a tremendous help for students who need structure and a guide to help them through the bumpy teen years.
Our school, as well as the the city, is experiencing budget cuts. But thanks to you, we are able to have these books despite the lack of money. They have tools to succeed and we are putting them to good use.
Thanks to donors like you, we can achieve what we believe.
Thank you,
Ms. M”
