  • Multi-Lingual Books for ELL Students

    Funded Oct 2, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to my students and the school library. This grant created an entire new section in the library that students are able to access. The books purchased were in three languages that my students speak at home. Being able to check these books out enables my students to share their library with their families.

It is hard to find resources in Portuguese and Arabic and this project was able to provide resources in both those languages.

The students have been really excited to read and check out the books. Thank you so much for giving my students access to books they would not have had without your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Klein

  • Calming Color

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to my students and the classroom. The supplies have allowed me to create a weekly routine with the students were they have time to decompress and relax. The rug has made a huge difference in the implementation of not only this new routine but in all of my classes.

The students love getting the opportunity to be able to have alternative seating and a space to use to complete work that is comfortable. The art supplies and pouches give students access to their own supplies to use.

This project has had added benefits just beyond what I initially thought and the students have really enjoyed the supplies and the new seating area.

Thank you so much for making this change possible.”

  • Movable Learning Spaces

    Funded Mar 5, 2023

Thank you so much for helping my students and my classroom. The money raised purchased 2 mobile carts, 2 mobile dry erase boards, chargers for the students and a charging dock that allows students to charge as needed.

All of these items have allowed me to change the location in which the classes are help and to open up different possibilities for students.

The carts are used to make the library a mobile program going into classrooms, the dry erase boards have been used in the elementary and the high school classrooms in order to make visuals for different lessons, and the chargers have allowed my students to use their devices throughout the day.

THANKS so much for your generosity.”

    Ms. Klein

  • Dynamic Shelving

    Funded Mar 14, 2023

Thank you so much for the donations to make this project a reality. With the funds we were able to purchases multiple book bins in order to change the manner in which we shelve books and make subjects more accessible to the students.

This project also spurred an inventory and weeding of the library collection. Allowing the shelves to be more focused on books the students like, as well as books that are current and accurate.

The bins have allowed the students to quickly identify subjects they may like and find books they would like to read with ease.

Thank you so much for thinking of my students!”

    Ms. Klein

  • Hygiene Products for All Students

    Funded Feb 25, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to the students at my school. This project was a little different from other ones I have created because it was not going to the students directly in my class or to a lesson or project I would like to teach. This project helps my students meet their basic needs without the stigma of having to be identified.

Through this project I was able to create a space in a private area in the library. Students can come and go as they are able, in order to get items that they need. Signs were placed on the inside of bathroom doors in the school letting students know that they can come to the library to get items they need such as: soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, pads and tampons.

Having to worry about basic body needs is something that no child should have to deal with. Thank you so much for taking the time and money to help my students take back some body autonomy by supplying them with items that help meet their needs.”

  • "Overbooked" Book Club

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you so much for the donation to our Overbooked Book Club. The books purchased allowed us to not only host a weekly book club for students in grades 7-12 but to also get the books needed for our students to have access to Battle of the Books competition books.

The Battle of the Books is a program that is run through the local libraries and creates excitement and competition around reading. The books that were purchased through this Donors Choose grant allowed us to get books for the students in grades 6-12 who wanted to participate in this program.

Thank you so much for caring about our students and their love of reading. Your donation helped to fund not just one program but two!”

    Ms. Klein

  • A Series of Unfortunate Events

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to my students and my class. The students voted on the book that they wanted to read this year and when they picked out A Series of Unfortunate Events I knew that we would not have enough copies in the school to be able to let each student have their own copy.

This project was able to give each student access to their own book, allowed me to create different vocabulary games and initiatives, and has allowed us to have conversations around healthy relationships and the right to ask for help when needed. This year since we are a little more spread out due to covid, each student gets their own copy and we take turns reading from our seats. The students are able to volunteer to read if they would like and have become really invested in the story.

This unit would not have been possible without donors like you. Thank you so much for taking the time to donate to my classroom.”

  • Naruto in the Library

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to the school library. The students were so excited to receive these books, have not been able to keep them on the shelf! This project has actually led to the students starting a book club at the school and requesting their own titles and topics.

These books would not have been able to be purchased for the students without your generosity. I hope you know that your donation has led to student joy and excitement over the books that they have access to in the library.

Thank you so much for caring for my students and their love of reading!”

  • Yearbook on a Cart

    Funded Sep 27, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to my students in the yearbook class. This year is certainly different than others, especially for clubs and groups that are not a part of the everyday schedule. Since we have not been able to meet in clubs during school time and students are not allowed to leave study halls to participate in extracurriculars, this year we have had to get a little more creative.

These carts have allowed us to take the supplied needed to different classrooms and have the students work on the yearbook while still social distancing. What is great is that these supplies will be able to be used in years to come, and will make it easier for students to participate in the yearbook club.

In the future, these carts will be able to be "checked-out" from the library with all of the supplies needed to work on the yearbook. Students will be able to work and create where they feel most comfortable. Thank you so much for donating to my project and my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Klein

  • Supplies for Distance Learning Creativity

    Funded May 26, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to my students. I am sorry that this Thank You was so delayed, this year has looked a little different than years in the past. This project allowed each of my students to receive a bag with school supplies that they could take home with them and use to work remotely.

These supplies have not only been used to complete work at home, but I have seen students use them in the classroom as well. With the uncertainty of the school year remaining "in-person", these supplies have given the teachers and students in grades 7-8 the resources that they will need to complete assignments. The great thing about these supplies is that it allows students to have the option of "unplugging". Students are able to step away from their computers and use the supplies to add some creativity to their assignments.

Thank you very much for caring about my students and their access to supplies. Your kind consideration allows every student to worry less about their resources and focus more on their classwork.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Klein
