  • A Desk You Can Write On!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

We are so grateful for your donation to our classroom. This table is an amazing asset to our classroom. Since you can write on the table with dry erase markers, students are able to create and solve equations directly on the table. They are able to work through problems together and solve them with meaningful discussion. Student's also use this table to brainstorm ideas and plan out their projects. This table is so much fun to have in the class and it is a huge savior of paper. We are no longer wasting paper to write down list or plan. We just write it directly on the table! Thank you again for your support.”

  • Colorful World!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your support with our classroom needs. We really appreciate your kindness and generosity that you have shown our classroom. These materials helped my students by providing them with things they need to succeed. Like highlighters, markers and crayons. These materials helped my students create beautiful projects. My students were extremely excited when they saw the markers, crayons, scissors and other materials that you provided us with. They immediately wanted to use everything. Thank you again for your support.”

  • Alternative Learning

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

We want to first start by saying thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. My goal this year was to create a classroom where my students can feel welcomed. I wanted to provide a space that felt like their second home. To do this, I wanted to create a space where students can sit comfortably. The beanbag you funded is a huge hit. My student's love to sit in the beanbag and complete their work. Not only does it look esthetically pleasing, it provides a nice place for my students to get a break from the hard classroom chairs.”

  • Organization Is Key!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

We want to first start by saying thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. My goal this year was to create a classroom where my students can feel welcomed. I wanted to provide a space that felt like their second home. The first part of this goal was how to organize our things so that the room wouldn't feel crowded or cluttered. This is where your donation came in. You helped us organize all of our items so that our classroom was decluttered. There is now a space for every item in my classroom. This helps us create a clean classroom. Thank you again for helping my students and making my classroom a second home for my students.”

  • Math Is Fun!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

We want to first start by saying thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. The math supplies you provided help my students with the hands-on materials they need to understand math problems. These materials help provide a visual guide to help them solve a problem. They love being able to grab the materials whenever they need them. So far, the materials were helpful when showing problems involving proportional relationships. Thank you again for helping my students. We really appreciate your kindness.”

  • Life Changing Portfolios

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

We want to first start by saying thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. We realize that file folders might not seem like a huge deal or the most exciting thing to donate to but to us it was the best gift! My students are now using these folders for their portfolios. Since they are in 7th grade, they needed a place to store all of their work so when they apply to high school next year, they can present their work. Having these folders in our classroom gives the students a safe space to save their work. So, when applying to High Schools and going to interviews they are able to bring their portfolios to show their work. These portfolios can be the reason why one of my students get into the high school of their dreams. Thank you again for helping my students. We really appreciate your kindness.”

  • Snacks For Us!

    Funded Jun 9, 2022

Thank you for donating to our classroom. The snacks in my classroom are a huge hit! My students love that they have a variety of snacks that they like. My students are always excited when they can choose from the snack cabinet. These snacks have helped my students stay on task. They no longer ask for food or are distracted by being hungry. They know they can just take snacks if they need and continue to do work. This has increased engagement with my students. My students are actively participating in the lesson and focused on the tasks. Thank you again for helping my students and making my classroom a second home for my students.”

  • Classroom Needs

    Funded Jan 31, 2022

This dry erase board is so amazing! My students love coming up to the board and showing their work. Participation in my class skyrocketed once they were able to come up to the board and present. They love it and make sure they clean it every time they use it. The Ipad is also a hot comity for my class. They love being able to use it to do I-ready, create projects, and work on their skills. They often use it for group work or they stream their work onto our Smartboard. They love being able to show their work in many ways. Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. We appreciate your kindness and generosity.”

  • Basic Supplies

    Funded Nov 25, 2021

My students and I are extremely appreciative to everyone who donated. These supplies helped us create multiple charts in our classroom. When our markers ran out of ink and we ran out of chart paper I had to use computer printed charts. These computer printed charts were unable to show the steps of an equation and limited what I could do. It also stopped me from having students create their own charts/models. Now that we have our new supplies, our classroom is filled with diagrams and charts that my students can reference when solving a problem. This helps them greatly because they can easily use the charts to help them solve their math problems without assistance. Thank you again for your generous contribution to our classroom and for helping prepare my students for success.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Singleton

  • Basic Needs

    Funded Feb 7, 2022

Thank you so much for donating supplies for our classroom. My students were extremely excited to see that they all were able to get their own colored pencils to use for their projects. The staples and stapler are a huge help to keep their papers together, staple important documents into their notebooks and display their work on the inside and outside bulletin boards. Because of your generosity we were able to give all of our students pencils and highlighters for everyday use. My students and I are extremely grateful for your generosity. Thank you again”

Special education can be challenging but extremely rewarding, mainly if you teach in the Bronx. My students come from a predominately low-income area and come from single-family households. Ninety-nine percent of my students receive free or reduced-price lunches based on their socio-economic backgrounds, and twenty-five percent of those students are special needs. My students face many problems in our neighborhood, such as a lack of proper funding for books and other essential needs, growing up in a high crime, high poverty neighborhood, and a culture that doesn't emphasize a vital education. My students are highly energized and visual learners. They love working on computers and using technology.
