Help! Our Classroom Needs A New Copy Machine!
Funded Dec 6, 2013Thank you for your donation! No more waiting for copies!!!!You have made teaching and learning so much easier.
My school is a title one school (high poverty area). Many of our students do not have printers at home to do the work they need to keep up with a tough curriculum. Our students are trying to keep up with the very challenging common core standards that include informative reports.
Now my students are researching and writing informational reports because we are able to print research materials and typed essays for those who do not have access to a printer/computer at home. We have also been able to meet our technology goals by typing and printing essays.
Having access to our own copy also save time and copy paper. Many spur of the moment differentiated materials were able to be printed and copied in class to help students develop their learning. I really don't know what we would have done without your generosity.”

Back to School Necessities
Funded Aug 26, 2013"I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder." G.K. Chesterton
With humble gratitude, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!! You have no idea what a difference these supplies have made and are making in my classroom. Your altruism is greatly appreciated not only from myself but also my students and fellow teachers I work and share supplies with.
I wish that you could see some of the daily occurrences of the classroom:
1. Students getting up and getting tissue to wipe their noses because they know that they have access to it.
2. Students realizing that they have colorful notebooks available to them when they started the new school year without notebooks.
3. Colorful double pocket folders available to all students with their names on them.
4. Filler paper available at all times to complete writing assignments.
These occurrences would not be visible without you generosity and kindness! It can be so difficult to keep up with the daily demands of a classroom; however, you have alleviated some of these demands. How great is that? Without donors like you and Donors Choose, I don't think I would be able to provide my students with the resources that they need in class in order to be successful. From filler paper to copy paper-these all make a difference.
Thank you again for your generosity!”

Emergent Reader Helper
Funded Jun 6, 2013Thanks to you, I am now able to better help my ELL students and other learners. My ELL students routinely participate in standardized assessments that are designed for native language speakers. Oftentimes these students cannot accurately demonstrate their mastery of a topic without yet having mastery of the English language.
My emergent readers are using apps such as Phonics Easy Reader and BugBrained Phonics Awareness for to help develop their English language skills. As you know, good reading skills, especially in a phonics reading program, improves spelling. As students learn to sound out letters and words, reading comes easier.
You have impacted the lives of my students tremendously. When they realized that they have access to 2 iPads they could not believe it. Most of them have never had access to this type of technology and now they go. How great is that?
With these iPads, my students have also started creating dynamic and entertaining multimedia presentations that I am using as alternative assessments that is informing my instruction. We will continue to use the iPads in class to provide the multimedia support for content that my students with special needs and ELLs will use to demonstrate mastery of a topic/standard.
Once again, thank you for your life changing generosity.”

Classroom Potpourri
Funded Mar 26, 2013Thank you for consistently supporting students and teachers in high poverty schools. Mother Teresa said, "We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with great love." This quote applies to all of you because the donations that you have given to benefit children were done with great love.
The supplies that you have donated to my students have helped them tremendously. The Spanish-English dictionaries have helped my ELL students with their spelling and their reading. Whenever my ELL students do not know a word in English, they get up from their tables, walk over to the bookshelf, and get the dictionaries to help scaffold their learning. How great is that?
My students have used the poster boards to create juvenile justice brochures to persuade other students to not become juvenile delinquents. Copy paper is being used for many different purposes. For example, students are able to print their typed essays in class because they do not have access to copy paper at home. Hand written essays using the writing process were completed using the donated loose leaf paper.
The Clorox Wipes are helping us to prevent and stop the spreading of germs, especially on desks and other surface areas that the students come in contact with on a daily basis. My students love to clean the desks and other classroom surfaces, as a result of having the Clorox Wipes accessible in class.
Thank you for your altruism. My students and I are grateful for all that you do and are doing to help children everywhere. Your contributions to my project have benefited the students and their learning tremendously.”

Printer for Growing Writers
Funded Feb 12, 2013Joan Silk said, "Human altruism is thought to be based, in part, on empathy. To be empathetic, you need to understand the thoughts and desires of others." Your generosity and action reflected your altruism and showed how empathetic you are to the needs of students. Thank you for generously supporting my students with an all in one printer and please accept my heartfelt thanks for your donations.
Due to budget cuts and constraints, my students would not have been able to meet their technology goals for the remainder of the school year, if not for your kind generosity. These goals include publishing typed essays using Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Office PowerPoint. My students will use the printer to print over 400 different typed published works for the remainder of the school year.
Again, my students and I greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity. With our limited financial resources it's wonderful to be able to provide student with items they need and something that will help to extend their learning and help them achieve their technology goals.
Thank you for supporting teachers and their students. What would we do without your altruism? Please continue your support of students and teachers who need your help.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Trimble
