My students use their iPads throughout the day to engage in 21st Century learning skills. The iPads allow me to differentiate for different levels of students in addition to all students increasing their reading, listening, math, and critical thinking skills. However, the students' headphones are built for adults and are not comfortable for the children to wear. The headphones are also not designed to withstand the rigor of an active 5th grade classroom with constant daily use. Our current headphones break easily and it is not uncommon for the headphones to just stop working with no visible damage. The students would be more comfortable and be able to engage more fully if they have durable headphones that were more comfortable.
