Creativity & Craftsmanship
Funded Mar 4, 2023Thank you so much for thinking of the artists in my school and restocking our supply closet with the items we need!
The markers will help my students with line drawing and craftsmanship, ensuring that details are bold and permanent on their page. Each sheet of watercolor paper will surely be loved, as painting in the art room brings so much joy!”

Chalk It Up!
Funded Jan 11, 2022The artists at my school love using the new chalk! It brings creativity and color to the school yard. It's been great to see students off the bench and engaged in making something together!
The florescent paint sets have made it easier for us to paint in the classroom, since art has been on a cart. The colors are bright, vibrant, and fun to use in many different ways. They show up like magic on black paper! We used them to create artwork inspired by Alma Thomas, Self-Portraits, and Under water animals!
We can't thank you enough for supporting our creativity with these supplies!”

Funded Aug 13, 2019As artists, we cannot thank you enough for your donations to our art studio! The supplies have left us with endless amounts of creation, resulting in prideful students. Students in the middle school come on their lunch period to paint, sketch, and try out the pottery wheel. I hope that the photos I shared give a glimpse of how this art studio comes alive.
Every classroom enjoys and loves their sketchbooks that we use daily! We practice before moving on to big projects, document our ideas and content specific vocabulary, and use them as a diary of their artistic life. The sketchbooks give me the ability to check for understanding and identify the students that are struggling or need enrichment. I have recently started working with the middle school students and it is my hope that we can build portfolios that will allow them to get into specialized art high schools and achieve their dreams.
As a teacher, I cannot express in words how much every filled project and donation means to me. I love giving my students the opportunity to experience new materials and seeing them fall in love with the process of creation. When a student has an idea to make something, I feel that I can go into my closet and find the resources they need. Thank you for supporting my artists and I!”

Funded May 13, 2019Thank you so much for your help in adding a pottery wheel to my classroom. In a generation that is obsessed with technology and cell phones, it is refreshing to have students put their phones away and get their hands messy in a slab of clay.
The joy that came from the experience of throwing on the wheel was contagious and I can't wait to give more students the opportunity to use the pottery wheel this upcoming year.
One particular student expressed that he "always wanted to use a pottery wheel, but had never even seen one in real life". He smiled and called others over to watch him, despite losing his mother in the days prior. Thanks to you, my students get an opportunity that many never experience. Another student that didn't participate in the art room often found love for the pottery wheel and tried daily to make a pot that was 9 inches high, a standard I had to meet at a college level.
"The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude." Thank you for your support!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donations to our art room! We were able to put on an amazing performance and transform the school auditorium with the artistic creations of the students! The markers, especially the scented markers!, were a hit with the younger students. The older students learned how to use washable markers in a new way to create neighborhood scene prints! The paint was used to create an island set perfect for our Once on this Island Jr. performance!
The pre-K students were thrilled to do observational drawings of fruits and vegetables, but the added sensory of the scented markers made the project even more exciting! Florescent paints made for a huge wow factor when the lights went down on our stage and the blacklight made flowers and palm trees glow with wonder!
We are happy to start the upcoming school year with some fairly new supplies in the closet! We can't wait to create in a new art room this year (art has moved to a bigger classroom, with a sink!) and make "Imagination Island" home. Thank you for supporting our creativity!”

Funded Aug 17, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so much for your continued support in the Art Room. The students have greatly benefited from the materials that you have supplied. We continue to create a better school environment filled with student art work that we are proud of. Students have discovered their individual talents and come to the art room ready to experiment with their own creativity. Pre-K and Kindergarten students are playing and creating with materials that lead to discoveries and fascination in learning. Art is truly changing the culture of our school. Thank you for your donations!”

Waves of Creation
Funded Aug 27, 2015Thanks to your support, my students started off the school year with the supplies necessary to have a quality experience in the art room. I am asked everyday that I see third and fourth grade, "Can I take my sketchbook home?" The handmade and decorated sketchbooks have inspired the students to become artists that plan out their work, but also care about their work. They are a prized possession in my classroom that will be treasured forever once they take them home at the end of the year. Over the winter break I sent home students with extra pages so that when they return the pages can be added to their collection.
The Waves of Creation have spread throughout the building. If you were to walk on our floor you would feel under the sea. With various student drawn portholes, sea creature zentangles, 3D Jellyfish, penguins, sand castles, and a giant octopus; the ocean theme has been very successful and close to home for these students whose community is surrounded by the beach.
I have seen so many proud and happy artists this year. Thank you for your support and for believing in me/ my students/ this school.”

Creativity is Endless, Even in an Art Room without a Sink!
Funded Sep 29, 2014The opportunities I have been able to give my students thanks to your generous donations are tremendous. The students are thankful that they have the chance to use exciting materials like plaster, and also stay clean with their art aprons. The iPad has brought my classroom to the 21st century and the ability to show videos and images has enhanced each lesson. Students enjoy the introduction of technology in the art room and are excited about the possibilities for the rest of the year.
The plaster strips have been used to create unique action figures. Students used aluminum foil to create structures and then used plaster for the first time to cover their sculpture. The second graders excitement during this lesson is overwhelming. Most students in my room have never created a 3- dimensional piece of work and now we are diving right in with plaster, paint, and embellishments! The students in pre-K have also created beautiful plaster spiders with ink blown spider webs! The aprons protect school uniforms and we are able to keep ourselves clean! So far the iPad has been a great resource to project images and videos in the classroom, as well as photograph student work.
My students have been introduced to materials that give them the opportunity to create a piece of artwork they are proud of. It has been amazing to watch the process of creation using these new materials. Because they are materials they have not used before, the appreciation of them has led the students to take their time and create something they're proud of. I have see a change in so many students who occasionally would be lacking in the participation department. They walk in excited to work on their unique, personalized art projects. I can't thank you enough for thinking of my classroom! Your help has opened new doors for children and given them new, positive ways to express themselves.”
