I teach both math and science. We use an I-ready program that allows students to work independently on lessons that are tailored specifically to them based on their levels and also tracks their progress. In addition to I-ready, I also love to use nearpod in my classroom. The students absolutely love using this website. It allows me to share my lesson in real time with the students on their individual screens. It then allows the students to respond to various prompts either through quizzes, drawing a picture, or submitting a written response. This gives me instant data on my students. It engages them and allows them to participate more. We know that our students learn best through technology and hands on experiences, but how can we do so without the tools? My students love to work in stations. They love project based learning. They love conducting research during science class. Unfortunately, I have more students than laptops. The 4 laptops that I do have are out of date. Our microsoft is from the year 2010 and we are now in 2019. We use windows 2009. Many of the keys have fallen off. It breaks my heart to force my students to work like this. My students don't have laptops at home. Therefore, I can't assign too many assignments that require the use of the internet or a computer at home. Instead, it has to be done in school
