  • Picasso, Van Gogh, Michelangelo--Oh My!

    Funded Jun 17, 2014

Thank you so much for your kind donation to our classroom! The students have thoroughly enjoyed expressing their creativity with these art supplies. Many Kindergarten students enter school with an innate creativity-they just don't know what to do with it. So at least once a week, I like to do some sort of art activity with them. Not only have we used them for our weekly unit activities, but I also had a great parent activity during the week of the holidays. We invited the parents to come in and help with a rotation of crafts reflecting our winter unit. I think a great time was had by all! And that is all thanks to you and your unending generosity! We cannot thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trayers

  • Wild For Workstations

    Funded Aug 23, 2014

I cannot thank you enough for your kind donations! The students love the new workstation materials and because of your kindness, they are getting more individual practice with their reading skills. They are also having fun in their learning! It's getting them more excited to read, which is always a good thing!

My students were so excited to see those boxes arrive and know someone they didn't even know contributed to their educations. What a great example in giving for them to experience. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

  • Reading for Fun

    Funded Oct 7, 2014

We cannot thank you enough for your kind contribution to our school! The kids just adore the books and ask to read them constantly! We are going to be so ready for our district competition this year because we had the books for our kiddos to check out and read. They have read about Nathan Hale, Marcel Marceau and crayons who go on strike. The books we received are all award-winning, quality literature and some have read more in the series on their own. There's nothing like hearing them say "Miss Trayers-did you know there are more books by this author!"

We are truly grateful and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trayers

  • We Like Big Books and We Cannot Lie

    Funded May 8, 2014

We cannot thank you enough for supporting our program with your generous donations! Because of your kindness, we can continue a student book club that will reach in excess of 80 students. They will be able to check out books to read and discuss with each other. This helps encourage not only their academic reading skills, but also helps us promote a passion for learning!

Our kiddos come from homes where books are not always available for them to read. Parents sometimes don't even have access to transportation to take them to the library. This gift you have given us will ensure our students do have opportunities to not only read quality literature, but to share those stories with their families.

From the very first day of the new school year kids start asking "when are we starting book club?"--I am so grateful to you that I now have an answer for them. We can start right away! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts-your gift is very much appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trayers

  • The Golden Oldies

    Funded Feb 10, 2014

We cannot thank you enough for your generous donation for our books! The kids just LOVE them. They read them throughout the day and take them home in the evenings to share with their families. They read them all, but their all-time favorites are "The Monster at the End of the Book" and "Baby Animals". Not only are they getting more practice with their fluency and vocabulary, but they are also getting excited about reading which is one of our ultimate goals in the early grades.

We are so grateful to your for supporting our classroom. What a great example for the kiddos of kindness and giving. Thank you very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trayers

  • Naming The Book

    Funded Sep 2, 2013

I cannot begin to thank you for the donation of books for our student book club. The kids just love them! We meet every week so different students can check out different books to read. They are being exposed to quality literature in a fun way, which helps instill in them a passion for reading.

Without your generous donation, we would not have been able to continue our book club this year. These books are being used by over 80 kiddos! Because of your kindness, they may be turning into lifelong readers.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trayers

  • Discovery With Hands-On Learning

    Funded Oct 3, 2013

My students were uber-excited to receive their books, mp3 players and workstation materials! They cheered every box as it arrived! We use them every day-the mp3 players are our listening stations. I record the stories for them and they read the story as they follow along in the book which is great for improving fluency. They also take them home to listen to-so I know someone is reading to them every night! The workstations are helping them learn their place value and math fact family skills and the books, of course, are vital to our campus book club. Your donation is reaching many, many students and we could not be more grateful! Your generosity is such a wonderful example of kindness to set for our kiddos! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

    With gratitude,

  • Bring The Fun Back To Learning

    Funded Dec 25, 2012

I can't thank you enough for your generous donation! My students love their new housekeeping materials and the blocks for their math workstations. They play restaurant and practice their writing by taking down orders and their math by adding up the totals. Sometimes they just play house, feeding the dolls and making dinner. Social skills are still in the development stages at this age and I love to see them working together and practicing those skills. It is also a wonderful way for them to use their imaginations, which unfortunately, students don't always get the opportunity to do.

Again, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It was an incredibly kind and generous thing to do! Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trayers

  • Teaching With Technology

    Funded Oct 4, 2012

I cannot thank you enough for your kind and generous donation to our classroom! The children are just overjoyed with their new "toys"! We use the mp3 players on a daily basis--I record stories for them to take home and listen to, so we can ensure someone is reading to them every night. The laptop, we use for practice on the reading program that they use as well as some lessons in how to do research.

They also LOVE the smartboard games! We have games in reading, math and science that we use in the whole group instruction as well as when they work in their workstations.

It is such a great example for these kids in how kind people can be! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trayers

  • Bonkers For Books

    Funded Jul 19, 2012

I cannot thank you enough for your extremely generous donation to our proposal. Because of your generosity, we were able to continue our after-school book club this year. I have over 80 students total who participate in reading and discussing the books you guys funded for us. The students were so excited to see those boxes of books arrive. They have discovered new characters, new places and new facts that they wouldn't have had access to if it weren't for your kindness. We are incredibly grateful! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trayers

One day my student asked me a question and I answered "well,l when I'm at work...." and she interrupted me and said you work???" I don't see teaching as a "job" and I'm glad my students have that same vision. Our students are curious, bright, precocious Kindergarteners. They come to school every day with a smile on their face ready to learn. We teach them reading, math and the basics as well as empathy, citizenship and social skills. I want to ensure that my students have everything they need to be successful.
