  • FUN-tastic Fitness!

    Funded Nov 8, 2017

We have put our Jungle Jumparoo to excellent use! The first day that we had the climbing structure available in the classroom was incredibly exciting. All students were instantly drawn to it. Even children who would typically shy away from physical activity could not wait for a turn on the structure. Everyone has enjoyed jumping, climbing, and swinging.

The Jungle Jumparoo has provided a great opportunity for our young learners to take sensory and movement breaks throughout our structured preschool day. As a result, we have children who are better regulated and ready for learning.

An unexpected bonus of having the Jungle Jumparoo available for our students in our classroom is that it provides a gross motor activity for children even when the weather is not conducive to recess or outdoor play.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hayes

  • Mini Chairs for Mini Learners

    Funded Jan 26, 2014

Thank you again for your generous donations to our classroom. Our students loved opening the boxes as they arrived at our classroom. As silly as it might sound, our new chairs have been life changing for some of our students! Children who were once not able to sit through circle time or story time are now sitting and paying attention to the learning at hand! The variety of chairs we now have helps to ensure that each one of our students receive the individual support they need. Everyone loves taking turns on the rocking chair.

    Thanks again!”

  • Bully Free is the Way Prek Should Be!

    Funded Mar 23, 2012

Our kids have greatly enjoyed the items included in this project. Thank you so much for your generosity and support. It was completely unnecessary for you to donate to our classroom, but it was greatly appreciated by our staff members and students. We love books and music and some of the books donated from this project have quickly become class favorites. We utilize these gifts almost daily and look forward to using them with great anticipation. Thanks again for your donations and helping to provide a solid educational foundation for our young learners.”

  • Silly or Angry, Happy or Sad- They're All a Part of Me!

    Funded Jun 14, 2012

Thanks again for your kind generosity and support of our preschoolers with special needs. We are incredibly grateful to have received these materials and have already seen the benefit of them. Our district has a very small budget and we lack many of the materials our students need to grow up socially competent, a key skill for success in education and life in general. These materials have helped give our students hands on practice and access to understanding their own emotions, as well as, the emotions of others. Thanks again!”

  • A Smartboard For Smart Kids!

    Funded May 1, 2012

Thank you so much for your kind donations and generosity in support of our preschool aged students with special needs. With today's school budgets, we have very little resources to provide the materials our students need in order to learn. I am so pleased with the results of the use of these materials in our classroom. Our students are learning to better recognize their emotions and the emotions of others. This has led them to becoming better friends and better adjusted to the variety of feelings they may encounter each day. Just check out how friendly they have become in our photos!

    Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

  • Moving And Shaking Our Way To Health

    Funded Apr 27, 2012

We LOVE music in our classroom. Our classroom serves preschool aged students with special needs. Some of our favorite activities center around music and books. The CDs and books on tape provided by this project have helped to make literacy and music and movement more accessible to all our of young learners. Each student has found their own personal favorite song and this has helped them to use language and learn how to make requests, as well as, wait their turn. We can not thank you enough for your generosity and choosing to support our classroom.”

  • Interactive Preschool Technology

    Funded Oct 4, 2012

Thanks so much for donating to this project. We have finally had our interactive whiteboard installed and we are quickly learning how to use it. Our classroom loves using the whiteboard and working on all of their pre-academic skills (math, writing, etc.) We have started using the whiteboard for our daily circle time and it has helped in improve attention and participation. We would never have been able to purchase this item for our classroom ourselves and we are so grateful for the addition! Your generosity is much appreciated.”

  • Being Healthy and Finding Balance

    Funded Apr 22, 2012

The outside play toys we received as part of this project and your donations have made our recess much more exciting. Our preschoolers with special needs have been able to work on their gross motor skills daily in a variety of exciting ways. They have loved learning to use the new equipment and look forward to recess every day. They are working on balance, climbing, coordination and even sharing. We are very lucky to have the new materials and are very thankful for them. With budget cuts and current funding we would never have been able to provide these crucial experience for our young learners ourselves.”

  • iPods for Skype

    Funded May 2, 2012

I can not begin to thank you for your donation of iPods to our classroom setting. We use our 2 iPods EVERYDAY for a variety of activities to promote language development and social skills. Sykping other classrooms and family members outside of the classroom has not only been educational for our young learners, but also very exciting. These type of motivating activities best serve our young learner's special needs. We are so lucky that you picked our project to fund. We love touch technology and video devices. The iPods are PERFECT.”

  • iPad for Skype in the Classroom

    Funded May 22, 2012

Thanks so much for your contribution of iPads to our Special needs preschool program. The students adore using iPads and they have proved to be highly motivating and very educational for our student's success. We are so appreciative for your donation and currently have 3 iPads as a learning center and communication station for our young learners. With budget cuts and funding difficulties we would have never been able to provide this experience for our students without your support and generosity. Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hayes

Our class is a Pre-K for students between the ages of 3-5 with special needs. Their disabilities differ, but most are placed on the Autism spectrum. We are located on an elementary school campus and are the only Pre-K in the district. My students have their days, planned full of interventions, assessments and therapy sessions. They are all such little troopers that face great difficulties daily. When they come to school, I want them to be excited and happy. School should be challenging, but there's no reason it can't also be fun! Despite their disabilities, the students in my classroom are just like any other preschooler. They love coming to school and exploring their environment in hands-on ways. We love music, dancing, and art (especially the messy kind!), but our favorite time of the day is story time! If you were to visit our classroom, you would probably be introduced to our favorite book, "Pete the Cat," within the first five minutes of your arrival (probably sooner!).
