These instructional materials and games will be used to support fun and engaging therapy sessions throughout the school year. Goals that can be targeted with these materials include: perspective taking, turn-taking, understanding social situations, sequencing and telling narratives, maintaining conversational topics, using complex sentences, and asking and answering questions. For example, the SPARK cards can help my students visualize sequences, expand their sentences, and produce cohesive narratives; games can provide engaging activities to support turn-taking; social and conversation cards can support my students in understanding body language and perspective taking; workbooks provide low-prep activities; tiles can help my students visualize how to expand their sentences to produce detailed and grammatically correct sentences; felt and light-up toys can provide sensory input or act as rewards for students with sensory needs. My students are more motivated to work on their goals when they are excited by the activities we do together. By funding this project, you will provide my students with engaging therapy materials that will support their development of essential communication skills.
