A Projector Will Save the Day!

Having this projector has made it possible to fully incorporate technology within our classroom. Each student in my class has an iPad and they use it for all subjects. With the projector, I am able to walk all students through the steps that they need to take when using the iPad. The projector has helped many of the students who were not familiar with an iPad. They are now able to follow along with me having the large image projected in front of them versus me holding up the iPad. It also gives students the opportunity for students to share their work with the whole class. Students are always eager to share their work. We do this often in math. Students work on problems on their iPad and they share the strategies they used when solving the problems.

I am always trying to find ways to make lesson engaging for students and I have to say that having the projector really helps with this. I can create PowerPoint presentations to introduce new topics. Students are able to interact with the presentation when it project it on the white board. My students are also learning how to create presentations to teach or share their thinking with their classmates. I also incorporate many videos/song into my lessons and the projector allows students to sit at their desk and take notes or get up and dance around the room and still be able to see the video.

Once again, thank you oh so very much for helping fund my project. My students were amazed when they found out that people who did not know them funded this project. One student suggested we throw you a party for your kindness. One student said: "Did the donors give us the projector because they know that we are good students? You always tell us that good people get good things in life. They are good people just like us!" We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Remember you are "good people."”
