  • Base Ten For Kinda Beginners

    Funded Sep 3, 2021

Thanks for helping bring this project to life! We are using these resources a lot during math. Students are using these math tools more than their pencils during stations.

I let my students use these tools to help them solve problems and show their ways of thinking. My students were elated when they saw the new math tools. I believe the best part was having enough for everyone to use.

The next steps for thIs project is to keep my students familiarized with base ten blocks. I want them to keep using these tools to compare , add, and subtract three digit numbers.”

  • Visual Aids for Science

    Funded Aug 27, 2021

We are preparing to use the visual aids for our Life Cycle Science Unit. We have not taught the unit yet , but I have shared the resources with my team. We did share with out students that we have some new posters , that will be displayed during our new Science Unit. The kids were excited to learn that we were getting new posters. When talking about each life cycle , we will display that poster for the week. As mentioned early , this resource will help our students that are visual learners or the ones that need visual aids. I will upload pictures once we use the aids!”

  • Back2Basics for School Supplies

    Funded Jul 29, 2021

I would like to thank you all for the donations! Every morning and afternoon I clean the classroom up! I wipe down the counters and the desks. My students were happy to learn that we had a lot of cleaning supplies to keep our classroom clean.

When my students first saw the materials , they wanted to know where did everything come from. I told my students that we received donations through Donorschoose.

I use the Meyer's cleaning spray to disinfect the kidney table and their desks. I use the paper towels to help clean up any spills in the classroom.

The Germ-X comes in handy because we use it a lot before and after lunch and recess. The sanitizing wipes are used a lot too in the classroom. We use the sanitizing wipes to clean off the headphones or any other materials that are shared in the classroom.

    Thanks soo much for everything!”

  • Reading with Enjoyment

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

This was literally the best project ever for my students! My students loved reading this book, this book matched every standard there is! My students loved having thier own book to use as I read.

Each student had a copy of the book. More students were able to participate in discussions because they had their own book. Students were able to participate in round table discussions on the book also. The students had the opportunity to see the pictures up close because they had their own personal copy!”

  • A Sweet Ending

    Funded May 24, 2021

This was a great resource to celebrate the ending of our book. The students enjoyed eating the candy while we watched the movie. While reading the book, I gave each student a raffle ticket. I would call on 5 raffle tickets , to represent that 5 golden tickets in the book. If I called the students ticket , then they would win a piece of candy.

When my students first saw the resources , they were elated! They were so excited to see the big bags of candy. They thought they were going to eat the candy in one setting. They next and final steps were for my students to vote and create graphs on their favorite Wonka Candy !”

  • Brilliant Books for Boys

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thanks for making my male students enjoy reading! When the books came to my classroom my students were excited to read. There was a book that matched each kids interest! My male students would read the books for enjoyment and sometimes use a choice board to complete an activity.

Reading in my classroom looks fun. My boys would sometimes laugh during silent reading. I will not tell them to keep quiet because they are enjoying the books.

Sometimes I often get asked by my students if they could take the books home. I make sure to tell my students , they cannot take the books home. Sometimes , they would read the book during instruction. I cannot get them to put the book down!!”

  • Birthday in a Bag!

    Funded Jul 12, 2021

The Birthday Bags are a big hit!! I recently had three kids celebrate birthdays in my classroom. I was not caught off guard with the birthdays of my students. The morning of , I put the Birthday in a Bag on my students desk. When my three students walked into the classroom , they were shocked to see something sitting on their desk.

I explained , that we were out of school for their birthdays and that I really wanted to celebrate with them. I told them , they could open their bags once they got home. I explained to the other students , that they will also get a bag when it is their birthday.

My students were excited! I believe this is something that I will carry out each year for my students. Birthday in a bag is a big hit! I encourage every teacher to try this if they can!”

  • Comfortable With Seating

    Funded Dec 4, 2020

Thanks so much for everything!! My students were super excited about the chairs and being able to sit on them. My principal even shared the news with the whole school!

My students were excited when they saw the chairs. At our school , Covid cases were increasing and we could not use the chairs. My students were upset a little , but I had to explain to them - why we could not use the chairs just yet.

My next steps are to use the chairs this year in my classroom because the cases have decreased. I know it will be a different group of students but I'm sure they will enjoy the chairs as well. Thanks soo much !”

  • Interesting Easy Reading Nonfiction

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

My students LOVED these books! My students loved when it was time for writing! They read so much , that it made it easier for them to write because they have gained sooo much information.

My students couldn't tell what subject I was teaching , when we read these books. We created pictographs and bar graphs to vote on our favorite animals in the particular book we were reading. We wrote opinion essays on who we think would win in a fight against each animal. We also wrote informational pieces on those animals using evidence in the book.

The students got to explore the different types of text features in the book , by doing a text feature scavenger hunt!!! We even got a chance to revisit habitats and adaptations.

The students really enjoyed these books , I will make sure to have more books like this in my class.

My boys and girls both liked the books , there were several times I told them to be quiet because they were overly excited reading the books!!! Comparing and Contrasting was far the best skill they practiced with the books!”

  • Parachute Fun

    Funded Apr 5, 2021

We used the parachute to play at recess with our classmates . My students loved this toy! My students were soo excited to be able to play together as a class and get along. There was alot of laughter and fun going on.

One time , I told them to run under to the opposite end if their favorite game is "Fortnite" the students ran quickly and were laughing. I also told them, run under the parachute if you help your mom cook at home. It was a great experience for the kids to get to learn about one another.

Next time, I plan to use this parachute as an icebreaker for my incoming students to get to know them.”

25 STUDENTS AND 3 CLASS COMPUTERS! YIKES!!! I want to change the way my students feel about the subject that I'm very passionate about. I tell my students to read books in my classroom library and they would react as if they were told to eat all of their vegetables! Yes , I will admit that I do not have the best classroom library but I do have interesting books. I have books of all categories , but I'm starting to realize that my library is not the problem. The problem is that students are not wanting to read books anymore. These kids are interested in video games and technology. I want to meet my students on their level and show them that I'm willing to do whatever it takes to show them that Reading is a special superpower to have. There are many problems that's stopping me from proving this FACT to them. 1.Not all of my students are reading on grade level , some of my students are reading on a Kindergarten level. I cannot afford to buy books across all reading levels. 2. I do not have much room to store the books in my small classroom. It was that moment thought about it. I should have digital classroom library! Students will have access to all digital books and games to help improve their Reading and Fluency. The only problem is that there is not enough technology for my students. We have only 4 computers in the classroom and 25 students in each class. Please help bring this digital library to life! The students can use these tablets to read books , recipes , news articles , magazines , and even e-mails! This would work perfect in stations also.
