  • Whatcha Reading?!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thanks! These books in my classroom , really sparked my students love for reading. Students are running to read a book , and running to buddy read with a partner. I can count numerous times , telling students to put away a book during instruction. This project went above my expectations. Not only are the students reading in the morning , but they are also asking to read books in the afternoon. My low level readers are even picking up a book to read. There is a book in the library for every students. I would like to thank everyone that donated to this project. We are very thankful!”

  • Birthday in a Bag pt 2!

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thanks for everything! Students are now able to receive fun filled birthday bags from me! I never have to worry about forgetting a students birthday! My students were happy to receive a birthday bag. I overheard students telling their classmates , that they cannot wait for their birthday ,so that they can get a gift. Parents are also happy to learn that they have a teacher that cares soo much for birthdays! I plan to share these resources with my teammates. This was a fun and great way to boost the classroom climate.”

  • Staying Alive...Staying Alive

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thanks so much for bringing this project to life. Whenever , I want to do a quick assessment with the students the tablets are charged and ready to go. Students are able to walk into the classroom and grab a tablet to read.

In the past we had problems with the tablets not being charged and that took away instruction time. My students have easy access to use the tablets as they need them. We also have designated students that are responsible for putting the tablets on the charger. I recently purchased a Bluetooth speaker. The Bluetooth speaker also fits perfect with the charging station. We never have to worry about our electronics dying ever again”

  • A Rug for Rugrats

    Funded Feb 10, 2022

Thanks so much for helping bring this project to life. This project was funded just in time for my students. The students really enjoyed having a carpet in the classroom. They used the carpet to read books , collaborate, and to even do their work. The carpet was very bright and fun for the students.

When the students were on the carpet , it was like their imagination came to life. I felt that the carpet was magical .I had a lot of classroom participation with the help of a carpet. I warmed my heart to hear my students ask to sit at the carpet to complete their work. Thanks so much!”

  • Stella Sends Help to Second Graders

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

Thanks for helping bring this project to life! We were able to use these books to help guide our young writers. These books were used to serve as a mentor text to teach students how to do narrative , informational, and opinion writing. We were able to use Stella's writing to examine to see what she did right and what she did wrong. I believe that all of the students enjoyed having the books read to them. These books were read to the students to serve as an ice breaker for introducing the new type of writing for that unit.”

  • Throwback Narratives

    Funded Dec 14, 2021

Originally we requested these books towards the beginning of the school year , but they came towards the end of the school year. I'm glad that we got the books at a later date , because during that time we were reviewing narratives. My students enjoyed reading these books. All of these books had great representation in them , and it was amazing to see my students reaction to seeing characters like them. We would read a book each day , and then do a response to writing on them. Some of these books were touching and brought great memories to the students.”

  • Reading About My Favorite!

    Funded Dec 26, 2021

This was an amazing project! My students have shown great growth in comprehension of informational texts. My students enjoyed reading about their favorite animals. My students also enjoyed reading with their classmates. My students also enjoyed the graphics and exploring the different types of text features reading the books. It was a warm feeling in my heart seeing my students get excited about reading. When students were done reading , they were able to tell more interesting facts about their favorite animal. We did a lot with these books.”

  • Staying Warm

    Funded Dec 25, 2021

It was a super cold winter! Thanks for helping me provide warmth to my students. The students were happy to get gloves and hats! Some of my students never had a winter hat or gloves. My students were prepared for recess , so there was no missing recess due to students not being prepared. The socks came in handy for my students that would come to school during the winter with no socks on. There were even rainy days , and my students had wet socks! I did not know wet socks were a thing , but it felt great having a fresh pair of socks on standby for my students. Thanks so much for the donations.”

  • Coming Back Safe and Clean

    Funded Sep 3, 2021

We handled these resources with a lot of care. The cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer lasted us throughout the entire school year. I was able to wipe down and clean student areas and counters before and after school. My students were happy to help me clean the classroom. They loved getting wipes to wipe off their headphones and eating area. The Meyers spray came in handy, the smell was not too strong of the students in fact the smell was refreshing. We had an abundance of cleaning materials , I was able to share some of the materials with my teammate. The paper towels came in handy for the breakfast spills that the students would make.We are thankful !”

  • Wait! Let Me Explain!

    Funded Oct 28, 2021

This has been a great project! My students are using these Legos to help them express their thinking and creativity in the classroom. We read Olive the Other Reindeer in class , the students had to create a sleigh for Santa. We've learned about historical figures in Social Studies , students were asked to create a historical figure with their Legos. The students gave their historical figures character traits!

When my students first saw the Legos they were super excited. I let them play with the Legos to explore and become familiar with the materials.

The next steps for the Legos are to use them to teach arrays! The students will use these Legos as manipulatives to visually see arrays!”

25 STUDENTS AND 3 CLASS COMPUTERS! YIKES!!! I want to change the way my students feel about the subject that I'm very passionate about. I tell my students to read books in my classroom library and they would react as if they were told to eat all of their vegetables! Yes , I will admit that I do not have the best classroom library but I do have interesting books. I have books of all categories , but I'm starting to realize that my library is not the problem. The problem is that students are not wanting to read books anymore. These kids are interested in video games and technology. I want to meet my students on their level and show them that I'm willing to do whatever it takes to show them that Reading is a special superpower to have. There are many problems that's stopping me from proving this FACT to them. 1.Not all of my students are reading on grade level , some of my students are reading on a Kindergarten level. I cannot afford to buy books across all reading levels. 2. I do not have much room to store the books in my small classroom. It was that moment thought about it. I should have digital classroom library! Students will have access to all digital books and games to help improve their Reading and Fluency. The only problem is that there is not enough technology for my students. We have only 4 computers in the classroom and 25 students in each class. Please help bring this digital library to life! The students can use these tablets to read books , recipes , news articles , magazines , and even e-mails! This would work perfect in stations also.
