Many children around the country haven't been to their physical classrooms in six months. This is detrimental to all students, but especially so with children who have disabilities. Returning to school, learning new safety routines, and an increase in demands, will likely lead to sensory overload and therefore, meltdowns. A weighted blanket that our students can place over their entire body while laying on a carpet or on our beanbag chair will help them to calm their senses and relax. A weighted blanket can provide firm, but gentle pressure that helps our children to be more aware of their body and reduce anxiety.
