Having to sit up straight in a row as you read is not fun, so I am looking for many ways to create a more exciting learning environment. My students are frequently conducting their own discussions about the text they are analyzing. With this unique table and couch, the excitement of acting like the teacher will make manipulating the text and discussing strategies even more fun! Students can emulate my actions as the teacher leading a discussion, using my modeling to improve their strategies for discussions. The couch will help my students relax as they search for clues to answer higher order thinking questions, and creating text dependent questions of their own.
